A Great Loss - Frank Frazetta RIP

Post by JWR »

"Like the wind crying endlessly through the universe, Time carries away the names and the deeds of conquerors and commoners alike. And all that we are, all that remains, is in the memories of those who cared we came this way for a brief moment." Harlan Ellison

I didn’t recognize his name…then when I clicked the article I was instantly struck by the familiarity of that ‘Death Dealer’ painting. I think I had a set of trading cards of his artwork as a kid.

That is a loss, he was uber talented.

I don't know him very well, but I do recall the imagery.

Sorry to hear that he is gone.

Yeah Frazetta was an amazing artist. As I recall, one of his professors handed him an anatomy book when he was a kid. He returned it the next day and said, "Thanks!" and just knew anatomy after that.

Damn impressive, though he also sounded a bit arrogant in general.

Man I saw this in the papers, what a shame. Did he do the character illustrations for some of the Forgotten Realms games on the PC? Just they look alot like his style of work.
