Yamato Live Action Clip

Just watched Space Battleship Yamato recently...and all I can say is that it really made me feel like I was 10 years old again. They nailed it - with many of the best parts of the anime well represented in the movie, and the dialogue as corny and soap opera-ish as I remember it in the anime. What a real treat it was to see those characters come to life (esp. Captain Okita), and to remember why I used to get up a 6-freakin'-o'clock in the morning to catch the show before school back in the 70's.

Man...watching the Yamato break free from the ocean floor and then fire the Wave Motion Gun for the first time just sent chills up and down my spine. I was literally yelling "YES!!" at the t.v.

There's supposed to be a Yamato remake coming out too:

Perhaps the movie was the one that encouraged interest in making a remake. Hopefully it will be good.

I've got to see that live action movie some day.
