Baakay & Kittens, you poor things :ghug:

Stupidity is just some things that many people know so much about. I'm a goober, but even I know when to ask people for help when I mess things up. Wish those people knew better.

God Kittens, that is just horrible. I'm glad that you are back!

Do you mind if I tell other people you say I am back. What are you on?

Hate to say it, 90% of the people employed at the "office" places tend to know nothing about computers/etc. To be honest it's low paying job, so they probably have the same chance of getting a skilled employee as any other retail place. I think the real issue is the lack of training the must get once hired.

*story for you***

I spent 45minutes at a bank once to get a money order. There were 3 people on duty, 2 new employees and one veteran(suposedly). She insisted the trainees fill my order since they were getting experience. Much equipment fumbling/paper shuffling ensued. Eventually, they realized, we're out of money orders. Thay passed a teller check off on me saying it was just as good. I left vey annoyed and switched banks the next week. Oh and teller checks take time to clear like any other check it seems, so they suck. Details are a bit fuzzy, it's been many years, but I've never regretted switching banks heh.

One of my favorite quotes.^

We were having problems with our DSL connection and called the (un)help desk for assistance. They sent a guy out to fix our problem who took a look at our set up, declared nothing was wrong with 'their' equipment and charged us for the visit because it wasn't 'their' fault.

Long story short we finally had a good helper on the phone who took a look at our account and said "Wait, you shouldn't have any DSL, your driveway is 10 feet outside our DSL range."

Last week, I quitthe line at the post office when I saw the employee who was supposed to help me frantically trying to shove paper into the printer via the little slot between two trays. :x

The Doctor : … and then, just to finish off, I’m going to wipe every last stinking Dalek out of the sky !
Dalek : But you have no weapons ! No defenses ! No plan !
The Doctor : Yeah ! And doesn’t that scare you to death ?

That recently? That's good information: tunnel vision said she quitthe line at the post office when you saw the employee who was supposed to help you frantically trying to shove paper into the printer via the little slot between two trays.

In this morning my car did not start b/c of a battery. So we called AAA and they said they will come to our place at 10:05. Ok. We waited and then they showed up at 11:10!!!!!

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!
Ahh, but you see they were early. They meant 10:05 PM. =P

*ducks*

NSP, I use another saying, "This would be 100% idiot proof, problem is that God makes better idiots." *slightly changed from my quote to my boss. Told him one day, "Well this program would have been 100% idiot proof, but guess they make better idiots in SoCal."

At least they were only about an hour off. It's not like, for example, the
cable company which will give you a four hour estimate of coming (8-12) and
then still show up three hours after the window :tongue

But for a cable guy you "expect" that they will be late :P :P

OOOh! I have to add to my tale of woe for the week... it's amazing, but it actually gets "better."

I am trying to save money on school costs by buying a "nearly" new copy of my textbook, and as I have spent way too much money with my amazon credit card I have a gift certificate, right? So I find the least expensive copy, happily order away and end up spending $35 for a book that would cost me $120 at the bookstore here.

That was 2 weeks ago.

Today I get a message: "We're refunding your money because, due to an inventory discrepancy, we don't have the item anymore." Bummer! Now I'm disappointed, but these things happen. However, I now need to scramble a bit because class starts next Thursday.

I log back on, click from within my order to the list of who's got the text, and find...as the low price... THE SAME COMPANY WHO SAYS THEY DON'T HAVE ONE FOR ME! And... interestingly enough...

The ones they have for sale now are $10 more!

Now... wouldn't you think they could have just written to me and said, "hey, we screwed up and put the wrong price on this...it was supposed to be x" and asked me whether I wanted a refund or not?

Bait and Switch. (Well, not quite, or I'd report them.) BAH!!

So I ordered a new copy through regular Amazon. I'll still save $30 over what I'd pay here. But man! that just frosts me!

My luck has to turn soon. I want a *pleasant* shopping experience!
Oh, wait... my cels have all been arriving beautifully and in good time, so I guess I have had some. :flower

Why now? I am sorry to hear that. Perhaps next time I can do better.

Don't know about you, but I would rather take all the other crap than have my cels arrive smashed or a year late.

Dang, sounds like you have bad karma (sp?) for shopping lately.
