OOOh! I have to add to my tale of woe for the week... it's amazing, but it actually gets "better."
I am trying to save money on school costs by buying a "nearly" new copy of my textbook, and as I have spent way too much money with my amazon credit card I have a gift certificate, right? So I find the least expensive copy, happily order away and end up spending $35 for a book that would cost me $120 at the bookstore here.
That was 2 weeks ago.
Today I get a message: "We're refunding your money because, due to an inventory discrepancy, we don't have the item anymore." Bummer! Now I'm disappointed, but these things happen. However, I now need to scramble a bit because class starts next Thursday.
I log back on, click from within my order to the list of who's got the text, and find...as the low price... THE SAME COMPANY WHO SAYS THEY DON'T HAVE ONE FOR ME! And... interestingly enough...
The ones they have for sale now are $10 more!
Now... wouldn't you think they could have just written to me and said, "hey, we screwed up and put the wrong price on this...it was supposed to be x" and asked me whether I wanted a refund or not?
Bait and Switch. (Well, not quite, or I'd report them.) BAH!!
So I ordered a new copy through regular Amazon. I'll still save $30 over what I'd pay here. But man! that just frosts me!
My luck has to turn soon. I want a *pleasant* shopping experience!
Oh, wait... my cels have all been arriving beautifully and in good time, so I guess I have had some.
