Exactly what bad guy won in that film? I've seen both versions(Fonda version is hands down better). The one voice of reason got all of the jurors to do the right thing, and the boy got a fair trial and judgement.

Also have issue with...

True Romance- Clarence and Alabama weren't bad guys. OK, they sold some dope, but it was their only ticket to having a good life together. The only people they killed were a pimp and a hitman, both of whom tried to kill them first. Sorry, I know I'm a pain, but I LOVE that film and the characters.

Dirty Harry- Harry is an anti-hero, not a criminal.

Reservoir Dogs- All of the men who robbed the store died in the end. I don't think that counts as a win. And no, Mr. Pink didn't live(listen close, and you can hear him go down in a hail of bullets outside).

Maybe my moral compass is broken :nuts :badass

I wonder if someone whose career choice is rooted in antisocial tendencies even cares if the movie bad guys fall in a hail of bullets. I don't think empathy is really their strong suit. /hmm

The Doctor : … and then, just to finish off, I’m going to wipe every last stinking Dalek out of the sky !
Dalek : But you have no weapons ! No defenses ! No plan !
The Doctor : Yeah ! And doesn’t that scare you to death ?

Dirty Harry is an anti-hero because he doesn’t follow the law. In the movies, the law gets in the way of supposedly what’s really true justice.

They die in Reservoir Dogs but they’re the protagonists.

Oh, yeah there’s also Good Fellas

As I understood the question was "what movies would you watch" not "list movies where the bad guys win".

You could be a thief, a bankrobber, a drugsdealer, a crooked cop, a murderer, a member of the maffia (that doesn't exist by the way)...

The question is : what kind of movies are you going to watch ?
The bad guys always bite the dust. And if you are criminal, you'll identify with the bad guys, no ?
Every character in the movies that is "you" will be on the losing side at the end of the movie.
I'm listing movies where the bad guys win because in those movies they're not on the "losing side", or even if they are the audiance is supposed to understand them.

Even if the characters die, in the movie they can still win in some manner or they can be shown as being made to act against the law for some reason.

I'm just completely off base then.

I'm gonna have to go with:

Md Geist 1 and 2
The Way of the Gun
and The sound of music
God's in his heaven, All's right with the world

Well the Bad Guy (entity) wins

2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Great movie! Nobody really wins...but it does accurately portray "the life".
Plus, the beginning is just so precious. :evilblk
The sound of music
:crackup ...such an ass (and I mean that in only the most loving way ).

And in so many movies the villains are just so much cooler than the heroes, you know? Even if they do lose, sometimes you find yourself rooting for them anyway. Although going with NSP "Sound of Music" anwer, I could see a "bad guy" being a softie for sentimental favorites. Mary Poppins, or instance. Or maybe raunchy comedy like Porkys or goofy stuff like Police Academy.

Hector the Collector loved these things with all his soul,
Loved them more than shining diamonds, loved them more than glistenin' gold.
Hector called to all the people,"Come and share my treasure trunk!"
And all the silly sightless people came and looked...and called it junk.

Let me think of some movies with either sympathetic, or identifiable lead criminals, nut jobs, and men above the law
Le Samurai
Taxi Driver
The Godfather
Un Flic
The Day of the Jackal
La Femme Nikita
Unforgiven
Ronin
The Score
The Wild bunch
Reservoir Dogs
Dirty Harry
Silence of the Lambs
Dog day afternoon
White Heat
Straw Dogs
Double Indemnity

I wonder if Batman, or the Punisher count as criminals?
Are they neccessarily bad guys?

Taxi Driver----- Id argue about Travis Bickle, given the ending, but he is listed on the AFI best villains list, so he must count.
The Day of the Jackal---------- oh he is totally! This guy is the bad James Bond!
Unforgiven------- I don't know---- this character is more like an apology to Eastwoods earlier man with no name roles.
Reservoir Dogs-------- about that Mr.Pink remark (i cant remember who said it), I read an article that proposed he could have survived---- if you take his flashback and put it at the end, the movie could still make sense, right?
Dirty Harry------- vigilantism? Anti-hero?
Silence of the Lambs--------- creepy.
Straw Dogs------- Revenge!!

I wonder if Batman and the Punisher count as criminals too. It's vigilantism right? Theyre anti-heroes.

ANYWAY--------- 2 really good movies with 2 REALLY GOOD VILLAINS that win in the end are.......
A Shock To The System
The Vanishing (the original one, havent seen the remake)

Seriously. These are two of the best villains to have ever appeard onscreen.
Keep on keepin' on Dilandau.
