Oh, wait... you weren't talking about a CROSS-SECTION of the earth!
Yes, I am a goober. *strut* Would have been funny to see someone actually answer "I live on the part called the mantle..."
I actually live on a part of the crust that has been pushed just shy of a mile above sea level. In the U.S.

I'm in Torrance, California which is a suburb of Los Angeles.
Torrance is where Mandarake used to have a store. Mandarake was in the same Japanese shopping complex as Video Japan. Video Japan is where I used to rent raw Japanese anime tapes so I could see anime series three months after they aired on TV.
Video Japan is not far from Torrance High School where they frequently film movies and TV shows. Torrance High is next to "Del Amo Fashion Center" which used to be America's largest shopping mall back in the early 1980s. Del Amo Fashion Center is where I work and is two blocks away from my house.
The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

In a horrible place where the weather changes from hot to cold on a daily basis....(oh my sinuses) aka Indiana What I wouldn't give for a predictable weather pattern

I beg to differ! I'd bet my feet would be much warmer this evening if I lived in the core!
Gotta love Colorado in the springtime. 86 degrees one week and 32 the next.
Oh and I'll second the motion on the sinus/weather pattern thing. The only thing any better than the big shift is when the big shift coincides with the beginning of tree pollen / cottonwood fluff season! *ow ow ow*

When I joined this forum I was in Mobile (Mou-beel), Alabama about 5 miles from Mobile Bay which is fed by the Gulf of Mexico which means I too am a hurricane veteran staying in my house while Ivan and Katrina tore up my roof. And although I was born and raised there, let it be known that I DO NOT have a southern accent, do not listen to country, nor go bowling (like Alabama Man) and do not eat lima beans and corn bread
Now I live in Ft Lauderdale, two miles from the Atlantic and 1/4 mile or less from the New River and 30 miles from my Miami boy.
(thats better than being 800 miles away from him)
