okay, my turn :)

Horror - Nosforatu - the DM Murnau one... that still is the truest Dracula adaptation I've seen. Alien runs a good second as it has all the classic tricks of a good horror movie with a sci-fi atmosphere.

Action - Mad Max always was a great movie, as was the Terminator, but for me, I think the Matrix Trilogy rocks as an action movie (I know, it's more drama, but what did I put into my dvd player when I first got my HD LCD, Matrix Revolutions, the Zion attack sequence - KNUCKLE UP!!!!)

Fantasy - I have a place in my heart for Ladyhawk (cheezy, yes, but <shrug>), and who can pass up the LotR's trilogy, but man, Conan, although I haven't watched it in a while, is just downright awesome!

Sci Fi - Aliens comes to mind, as does Starship Troopers (okay, they weren't in powered armor like they were suppose to be, but anyway), but I'm leaning towards some older ones like Logans Run and THX-1138 at the moment!

Comedy - not one for comedies, but there are 2 that come to mind right away. First is Bringing up Baby, and the second is Philidelpha Story! Both start Carrey Grant and Kathrine Hepburn - great comedy couple! If you haven't watched either, you should!

Foriegn - City of Lost Children :)

Drama - Titus, who knew Shakespeare could be so brutal?

overall - hmmm, thats tough... gotta think about that

The Doctor : … and then, just to finish off, I’m going to wipe every last stinking Dalek out of the sky !
Dalek : But you have no weapons ! No defenses ! No plan !
The Doctor : Yeah ! And doesn’t that scare you to death ?

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

*Jumps on the bandwagon.*
:P

Action Film: Boondock Saints / Fight Club (Some pizza, a cold coke, and these two movies played back-to-back can make any terrible day 100% better).
Adventure: Pirates of the Caribbean (I'd say MI:3, since it's borderline adventure/action, but whatever. PotC rocks the socks of all.)
Fantasy: The Labyrinth (David Bowie + 80's hair + leather pants = love)
Drama: Memoirs of a Geisha / Collateral (The first is simply beautiful, the second is such a thriller!)
Humor: Bubbleboy (it's a guilty pleasure)
Horror: Silent Hill (Yummy)
Sci-Fi: Firefly/Serenity series (Best.TV.Series.Ever.)
War: Gods and Generals (Civil War movie = A+)
Family: Haven't watched these in years. . . Old Yeller? (such a sad movie)
Western: I can watch ANY Eastwood flicks and be entertained
Foreign: Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (Awesometastic)
Anime: Ah! My Goddess / Cowboy Bebop (Awesomeawesomeawesome)
All time Favorite: Boondock Saints, Bebop, or Fight Club. I can't decide. ._.

All of my current favorites come from South Korea. :D It's hard to catergorize them by genre as most are an ever-morphing mix of all styles, but...

Horror: R-Point, Spider Forest
Thriller: Into the Mirror
Suspense: Antarctic Journal

Action: Some, Libera Me, Fighter in the Wind
Sci-fi: 2009 Lost Memories

Crime drama: Nowhere to Hide
Drama: Friend, A Family, Joint Security Area

Comedy: Attack the Gas Station, Spark the Lighter, My Boss My Hero, Kick the Moon
Dark comedy: Humanist

Romance/Historical: Thousand Years Old Lake (Bichunmoo is good once you get over the faults that were incurred from adapting it from such a long manhwa)

Ones in bold are my top choices, and those I would watch over and over again (for story and not just the cute actors!). I offer reviews of Korean films and a list is offered at my website for anybody interested. This doesn't mean I don't watch Hollywood movies or that I don't have English-speaking favorites, but these are just best, for any country, in my opinion.

Thanks,
~ Heather
