I"m glad you said something!! All this time I've been saying the "oo" like the o's in "boot". :P
But it sounds so much cooler as when pronounced "Juiced".

Of course my nick can't be mispronounced, except by the dozens of people who have seen too much Xena and think Gabriel is a female name.

I've been doing the vowels right, but I thought the "J" sounded like a "Y". Yo! :D

You know, Johann rather than John......... :?

Oh I could never think that! You'd need another "l" and an "e" to be a girl!

And other things as well...

But then, of course, you have somethings girls don't.

I think I'll stop now........ :emb

Ok, THAT set me back a pace, then I re-read it. *whew*

You see, Xena was my character name when I used to play D&D back in the early 80's... and then was my character name on ArcticMUD... well before the show ever started (oh yes. That was quite a strange feeling to see a show about a warrior princess when your own Xena happened to be a warrior as well -- albeit a sucky one). So I see "Xena" and freak just a bit :P

But besides that!!

YOU'RE HERE!!! *WOOOOOOOOOOOOT*!!

No idea what the true pronounciation is.
I read it in a favorite book. Latched onto the character, and kept the name.
I say AIR-nah-th. (No, not strung out like that, just trying to show that I pronounce the second a like the middle of "yeah".)
Could be waaaay off base, but I've been pronouncing it that way since the book came out in, um, early eighties? :shrug

As long as you don't pronounce it "Butt-head". :P
Okay, as long as you don't pornounce it that way within earshot of me. heh heh

I don't think I've read that. Can you give me a reference?
