honeymoon travel.. where to??

I personally like Italy, but there are also so many other places. British Columbia/Seattle is beautiful in the summer and there are many romantic hidaway type places, and in spite of how cliche Hawaii is, we go every other year and have discovered many quiet places where there is nary an individual. (deserted beaches are great places...) . New Zealand offers lots of outdoor activities. A lot obviously depends on the type of getaway you want - outwardly active with lots of things to do, or inwardly active with lots of romance and solitude.

Right now, I'm kind of partial to Spain, but that's probably because I'm in SPA 472, which is a class on Spanish culture. More than half the class has gone to Spain already, and I'm jealous as heck!

I voted Italy, since it's the only place on the list I've been. I went with a tour group, so it was a nice mix of major cities and small towns.

Hey Shampoo! My fiance and I have been trying to decide where to go on our honeymoon too! ^_^ Our honeymoon destination is not on the poll answer list.

There are two places that we are going to travel to next summer, and both were on the list so I'm partial to both. One is Italy, where part of my heritage is from and the other is Japan, for my anime-loving needs. Both places are very romantic and there's plenty of places to visit while you are there. I would recommend a tour group though, as it will help out with translations and places to avoid (like areas you don't want to be caught by yourself in). My family is from around the Sassanori area in Italy, and from the pictures I've seen and heard, it's gorgeous over there.

By the way, have fun trying to pick out a destination spot! That's part of the fun of all the wedding plans...only 3 more months left for me! XD *high five*

I watch Food Network a lot, and all the things I've seen made me pick Italy.
Also the guy I'm seeing used to live there and the things he's told me and the pictures that he has makes it look incredible.

I think it would be Ideal to tour Italy, but Spain is a close second.

I'd love to go any of the countries listed! It depends on what both of you enjoy doing. For European romance with rich heritage, Spain and Italy are great choices. For a taste of Asian colours, cheap shopping & yummy food, go to Southeast Asia. The beaches there are fantastic too. Of course, to get your anime fix, there's no place like Japan. You can visit the temples and old quaint towns & pretend you are in an anime like RK.

SHAMPPOOOOOO! Out of the countries you've listed I've only been to Spain and Italy and BOTH places are amazing.

Depending on where you go, I think Italy would be better for you, as I think it’s a more romantic place to be, as it's definitely one of those places to visit with that someone special!! Lots to see, great clothes to buy and the food is great! You'd love it...well that's my vote, but I know you'll have fun where ever you go!!! :)

I thought it might be interesting to pose this question to my fellow betarians
as to where they think might be the best or most inteeresting place to honeymoon
if they were getting hitched?

I'm in the middle of wedding planning and me and rayd are down to the final T's and I's to cross and dot.

But we cant decide where exactly to honeymoon to.
Probably because we are *too* flexible lol!


So we came up w/ a list of possible countries.

We might end up going w/ the cheapest but I was curious on other ppl's thoughts.

What would you choose?

one thing ive always wanted to do i trek the inca trail in south america, not too sure if thats the ideal place for a honeymoon.

I've been to some of those places. Spain or Italy might be best, since you either know the language or can understand enough to get by (bless those Latinized languages!)Of course English will be present probably where ever you go, but knowing the language can enhance the experience.
