Now, the closest thing is Priority International at $29.50, 6-10 days. That is indeed quite a jump. I like how the estimated time for First Class International is "Varies". X|

How is the pricing for UPS international shipping? I just tried looking up the rate for sending the same package to Australia via UPS and got a $90 price quote for delivery by the 23rd of May. Am I doing something wrong? :hurt:
Crikey! :hurt:

I am afraid that might be it. Im sorry I didnt explain very well. I dont ship internationally so I wasent sure of the prices for that. Gomen! X|

I took five packages to the postoffice Monday since I was busy with Acen and payments hadn't arrived till Thursday in most cases. yeah for price gouging.

*sniff*

If anyone finds a good price for international postage (around the old global priority price) please post it.

Do you take five packages to the postoffice Monday since he or she was busy with Acen and payments had not arrived till Thursday in most cases often?

I try to take packages to the postoffice as soon as payment is recieved, if not the same week. Typically I ship out Saturdays since its easiest without dragging 3 kids with me walking into town. Although technically, if its during the school year, I'd only have to take the youngest.

I used to go to the post office 2 -3 times a month with 7-10+ packages when I still lived in St. Charles. That is because I was running a distro. That was however several years back, and it was a 5 minute walk away.

Nope, the last Acen I had previously attended was in 2001.

I'm a she. Yes though, I had to take them on Monday since on Thursday I was still doing last minute finishing touches to the other costume I made (for my husband). Friday and Saturday we were at ACEN and commuting back and forth using the local Metra and the blueline.

I'm still waiting for payment from a person who said they were buying manga from me, and I might have another package that is being sent out shortly after that. I know a few years back, they used to have a bit of a price break on sending out large amounts of media mail.

I send packages out internationally a few times a year on average.

This is going to be horrible for eBay sales. *sigh* I guess I cannot really complain, because they're offering a darn good service for a "reasonable" price...

All I can say is that I'm glad as a UK buyer that the Dollar is so weak against the Pound at the moment. Even so these new rates aren't exactly something I'll be looking forward to :x.

I shipped to Japan the other day.... Hmmm I very rarely ship international as I can't guarantee going to a post office... my package was for a trade of cels in one of those plastic boxes. It was i think 13 ounces and cost me 30 bucks with the insurance of 500 USD.

*sigh* I let an ebay bidder slide and wait to pay me today... without figuring for the price increase. Ah well... hopefully good old Media Mail hasn't had a crazy price hike. I am fearing for a cel I'll be sending to Australia soon, now, though...

I'm sure this has something to do with the rising gas prices. Does the USPS know something we don't? Also, the USPS is privately owned but still sanctioned by the government. So someone is making a profit off of all of this.

You know what really sucks? I sold some stuff on Ebay about two weeks ago to an international buyer, sent her the shipping price then, and she barely sent me the money today (she mailed it, too). :l Two weeks ago, global priority was a little over $12. Now, it's closer to $20 . . . and that's if I skimp on the packaging. X| *sigh* I think I'm downgrading her to first class international . . . :(
