I understand: when I was an undergrad. I stumbled off a curb and did nearly the same thing. Huge puffy swelling, crutches, etc. And I lived a mile and a half from classes, which were all in an up-and-down-hill campus. It was hard, but I learned to cope. Just insist on accommodation. I still remember the vague looks I got from my roommates when I asked who would be willing to drive me in to campus tomorrow. An awkward pause, then suddenly everyone was talking about something else. In the end, I really had to read the riot act: like it or not, you need help, and so don't at all feel bad about yelling and screaming until you get it.kittens wrote: It just sucks that I cannot go anywhere without making biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig deals out of itJust so inconvenient.....
At least it's not like being hearing-impaired; then, no matter how carefully you explain, people just assume that you're either stupid or deliberately ignoring them. Crutches at least inspire sympathy from enough people to get you through.
Um, I would say go with the prescribed pain killer rather than risk an OTC overdose. Yeah, they have bad reputations because people steal them and use them to get high. But when they are used to kill pain, you don't get addicted to them, just like people don't get addicted to pain.I just do not want to take heavy duty painkiller (a doctor said she can give me some prescribed pain killer but I just did not want to
Good luck and let us know what the bruise looks like!
