Life outside of collecting...
I am a college student who is slowly, and I stress slowly, making my way to becoming a secondary teacher. Meanwhile, I waitress and spend my time playing volleyball, softball, and have recently started taking Tae Kwon Do classes. My football team is the Dallas Cowboys. My baseball team is the Yankees, followed by the Angels. I loath basketball - 'nough said.
Like kymaera, I enjoy my PS2 and RPG games - can't wait for the next installment of Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy. I read a lot - though I find that I am drifting towards more philosophical and non-fiction books than my normal fantasy and sci-fi genres, though I still enjoy my manga. I love musicals and soundtracks in general. I listen to most anything, except rap and hip-hop. Movies are of the good.
My family has two dogs and two kitties. I spend much of my family time tormenting my sister and when the opportunity arises, tormenting my brother (It's grand being the little sister!).

Outside of cel collecting, I am a relief veterinarian. I work very long hours (up to 70+) a week. This includes a lot of 14 hour emergency night shifts. On the side, I also work as a poll worker/inspector and church lector. Since I am away from home so much, I limit myself to pets that do not require a lot of emotional attention..... I have 2 turtles, 3 tortoises and 2 guinea pigs.
I have watched anime since I was a kid. I loved Kimba, Speed Racer and Starblazers. Even then, I rarely watched American Shows. I have yet to see Sleeping Beauty or Cinderella in their entirety.
My favorite activities are horseback riding (even a little training), bowling and hiking. Before collecting cels, I collected knives. That is where the url for my gallery came from. Itame and jihada have to do with the anatomy of a katana.

My life outside of cel collecting consists of mainly three things: school, work, and being a wife. I am a Junior at Utah State, majoring in English with my emphasis in Creative Writing. I love to write and I've completed three VERY rough drafts for some books. I frequent anime-beta every day, mainly checking out the 'For Sale' forum. I love to watch old movies and am always working on explanding my collection. I crochet a lot, and sell some of my handiwork on eBay now and then. I like yardwork and helping my husband with fixing up our newly acquired house. I also spend a lot of time with family.

Is there a lot of time for cel collecting around normal life?
My Architecture Firm recently celebrated it's 10th anniversary and is still trying to grow despite us never spending any money on marketing.
We have a construction company that does apartment framing and almost nothing else, but we will gross over 10 million this year
Business number three makes weapons and armor for the Renaissance Faires and SCA. We do 43 weekends a year at events.
Every Thursday I host my "Excuse", a gathering of around 40 that includes dinner and drinks. (Yes, I cook it every week)
No pets, but I am still playing dad to two teenagers that came into my life several years back. (Another story)
I do not have a phone or a computer at home, or cable, or satellite or a TV hooked up to an antenna. I do have almost four thousand episodes of anime on disks though.
Mom is retired in the mountains and my big brother runs a chemical research division of a large national company. I have a teenaged niece that I have hooked on anime.
ffrolg is the password that will get you to pictures on my rubberslug site. The Faire picture is "entertaining"

Life outside of cels? O_O AAAH.
Hm… I am a rather boring person. I work usually about 45 hours a week and talk to people all day about their retirement accounts. Because I am at my computer all day I am constantly looking at dealer’s websites and searching YJ. LOL @_@ I am a part time student so I am doing school in my spare time. I have been with my boyfriend for almost 3 years which will be at the end of January in 08. I enjoy cooking, sleeping, and like to collect other random stuff. I like to make cakes too o_O Oh yeah, I have kitties that are really cute.

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Lets see outside of cel collecting….
I work for a Mercedes Benz dealer taking care of the parts needs of our shop of techs. I’m currently in my last year as a Trustee of my local Elk’s Lodge after being an officer there for the last 12 years. I am one of the Moderators on Rubberslug.
I have attempted to cut down on a lot of the things I used to do. I no longer compete in competitive shooting but do volunteer my expertise by holding training sessions. I’m no longer a Board member of my state Rifle & Pistol assoc.
I am still supporting my son while he attains his masters and providing shelter for my daughter while she looks for a job she can use her masters with.
My wife Maria & I have been married 28 years , share our home with 3 cats & 1 lizzard.
I do some writing , listen to music , talk to friends in the RS chatroom , We are both big LA Kings Hockey fans. That and have now 3 bookcases full of Anime DVD’s.

hm.. stuff other than cel collecting...
i work at a publishing company as senior invenotory analyst. one huuge perk is that i can get free samples the books we publish. i adore books so it's a great thing for me
i have two adorable kitties, both about 4 yrs old and they're so much fun to play with although they're kinda lazy
in my free time, i do kyudo, knit, read, and bake. i do like rpgs but don't spend too much time on them usually. i go in phases, playing for a full day and then not touching it again for weeks.
same with actually watching anime... i like tea and drink it obsessively
i try to meet up with friends in the city at least once a week but, on the whole, like relaxing at home the most
so that's me in a nutshell ^_^

What a cool thread and what a diverse range of people!
I work auditing food business's in food safety and quality and teach food safety management. Apart from cels, most of my money goes on renovating my house (which is not a lot).
I also ocassionally do tree planting with a community group in my local area.

I work in a warehouse processing parts to be installed into aircraft that carry inflight entertainment screens in the back of the headrest in front of you.
Fine use of a Bachellor's in German language, heavy in math and chemistry, with a helping of French and Russian I say!
But that degree was fifteen years ago. I've been too busy living since then.
Got married and have enjoyed continuing my life's apparent fate of moving around all over the world, meeting interesting and fun people, and learning how to say dirty words in their language.
In the case of the Marshallese, I just made one up, and the folks that knew me, used it frequently.
Hobbies other than cels/sketches?
Right now: Asian Ball Jointed Dolls.
Just think - Three Dimensional Bishies that YOU create!
Stained glass, if I ever get back into it
Bagpipes, if I ever get back into it
Running, if I .... oh, I plan on getting back into that soon
Swimming laps, again, soon.
Read sci-fi/fantasy
And then all the wonderful old lady stuff: knit, crochet, cross stitch
Backyard astronomy, probably after we move from Orlando (tooooo many lights to see anything smaller than an earth-crushing meteor headed right for us!)
Um... that's all I can think of right now.
Aren't you glad?

Hmmm...
Well, I am currently getting my second degree, this one in English. I have no job at the moment but I am trying to get a small Ebay business off the ground for extra spending money and hopefully more (hopefully).
So I pretty much do the school thing, come home and just... kinda sit around, LOL
My friends live in another state right now and never call or email, so I've nobody to hang out with. I'm a very lonely soul
Hobbies? Outside cels I collect Asian-ball jointed dolls, manga, anime, etc. I also read fantasy novels and love cartoons and media from all over the world.
