I'm thinking of doing the 3rd option. How about you? Image
I am also going with your 3rd option. Wearing a suit today just for the internal interview. @_@

I've tried to get my husband into collecting cels in the past and even bought him a couple RK Sanosuke cels, but alas, he never took interest in the hobby. He's a Star Wars nut instead.

I have no reason to do that to you, Sugarflower.

Well, I'm living proof that you and your collection can survive a breakup with a significant other who also collects. Amusingly enough, my current significant other is also a collector - personally, I love having someone who enjoys the hobby. Of course, it isn't the only expensive hobby we have in common (we are also both computer nerds and model builders), so we have lots to talk about all the time. ;) Cels don't make our relationship work, we do ;).

Have more money helps feed two collections, of course :P.

Truthfully, I wouldn't try to suck anyone into this hobby - spouse, significant other or not. If they develop an interest in it, that's great. If not, I wouldn't force the issue. But that's just me. Your significant other should at the very least be tolerant of your hobby, if not supportive or understanding. I would suspect that if they strongly dislike your hobby, that's asking for trouble in paradise. :O

Ahh... Yes, the force is strong with this one! Image
If you can convert him, he would be a great ally!

Star Wars.... yup, my husband is also a Star Wars nut. While it's not my thing, I do watch the movies with him, play the trivia, listen to him blab about it for hours... It would just be nice to have him show some interest in my hobby every once in a while

Wishful thinking?

Before I was into anime. I loved Star Wars. I still know all the trivia, characters, planets, etc.

The animes that converted me was Neon Genesis Evangelion... Image

Evangelion could convert him. However the cels can be very expensive Image
Well atleast the one's I want.

Actually I'm working on a promotion. It would be really nice if it works out.
Money ruins a lot of relationships between friends and loved ones. So I think it's best to try to avoid that sort of problem.

I don't think we should get our other halves into collecting, purely cause it means there'd be less cels to go around for us! ;)

I started collecting before me and my gf met, and kept it a secret until she moved in. My collection was confined to a drawer in my bedroom so it wasn't that big of a deal. Now 3 years and $$$$$$$$$ later, my collection has made out into the real world so to speak. When we first started dating we watched anime together and I was happy that I had someone to share my obsession with. Since then its fizzled and we watch a episode of bleach together every now and then when there is nothing better on tv. I never really tried to get her into collecting because I was collecting enough for the both of us, nor could she even understand my love of the hobby no matter how many times I tried to explain it to her. She has the attention span of a goldfish and can never just sit and watch something, tv is like background noise to her unless its some retarded reality show like top model, or top design or top *insert lame theme* so anything that requires her full attention, like subtitles is out. Kinda hard to get someone interested in collecting when they don't want to watch it anymore.

I'm just happy if he's willing to watch my anime with me :P I had one boyfriend that sorta acted interested, but I was always buying them for him, so maybe not so much X|
I'm just as happy if they're not though, as long as they don't give me the "you spent WHAT on a piece of paper?!" line
