I think Starbuck is Sol and Ellen's child from Earth, and when she died, she was ressurected on a nearbye hub. It somehow fits for me. She has Sol's tenacity and (lack of) tact, and Ellen's looks.

Ooh, that's a good one! :D

I love it; I can totally see her as Saul's daughter  . Would totally add to their short-fused relationship dynamic, hehehehee...

Btw, is anyone else remotely unsettled by the implications of the... uh... relationship between certain characters in light of last episodes revelations?
[Saul is unknowingly sleeping with one of Ellen's "children" now O_o. Does that kind of make his child also his grandchild? 8O
Also,
I think Kara is Daniel's daughter. Or she's related in some other way. They kept saying Daniel was an artist... maybe she is the new Daniel or something.
[edited this as I kept calling Daniel 'David' lol]

After watching tonight's episode, I'm starting to agree with you on this.

Starbuck (referring to Saul & Ellen reuniting): It's like watching Mom and Dad make out.

We (three of us) were watching the latest episode last night, and all agree it felt like nothing much of interest really happened, storywise x.x. Anyone else find it kind of repetitive? (yeah, okay, already seen Adama having his breakdown moments over losing the ship before... didn't really need to see it again). I hope the next one is really good since there's only a couple left now...

Btw, looks like that Daniel thing was sort of starting to play out during the previous episode. I need to see this resolved now XD...

You know as much as I hate fillers, I thought this one was okay. Probably bias since I love piano music and got to listen to it for a hour. I still wish we could find out what is up with Starbuck faster and you are right about too many storylines being dragged out. The show is also getting a bit weird for me. You have to wonder if the writers always planned it this way or want to go out with a bang.

Hm.. My feeling is that they had several good ideas for story directions and possibilities all along, and they just kind of go with the flow and see what works or what they want to do with it as they go along. I think it's half improvised and half loosely planned out with several possible directions kept in mind at any time for certain things. It would certainly make sense for them to stay loose with the planning on a general level- that way they can see what they like as it develops, which things are worth developing in greater detail, etc... when an actor plays something a certain way that works really well; the writers getting to see how the scripts they've laid out translate to the screen... I'm sure those things inspire them to adapt and to change their minds too.

I tend to get the impression from large season-spanning stories on TV in general though that it's probably at least 60% 'going with the flow' and not trying to plan too concretely... just having a loose skeleton of it in mind to fall back on or kick off from.

[I think my point-making might read a bit repetitively... oops ^^;]

As to weird... I was kind of wondering why the newly-introduced great big Cylon HQ place is decorated in green and purple lighting XD. It looked so out of place to me... cartoonish I think, compared to every other location we've seen in this universe. Having a nitpicky design disbelief moment I guess...

Also.. no Tyrel (sp?) follow-up in the last ep. That kind of annoyed me. I can imagine he's sitting around somewhere horrified at the mistake he's made, but it would have aided the emotional plot continuity a bit for me.

Or maybe I'm turning into a really tough critic as we near the end... XD

And yes... there's some nice piano music in BSG :P

Wow, a very interesting finale. I didn't think I would be left with so many questions, but I really liked it. I enjoyed the aspect of perpetuation and how we never learn from our mistakes. I also enjoyed the idea of the spiritual leading us out of the technological and vice versa. It really is a cycle.

Hm... I didn't really like the ending x.x. It felt like parts of it came from nowhere. And... even with the suspension of disbelief that everyone would
jettison all of their technology into the sun and willingly go live like cavemen
I didn't really like it. Although.. I wasn't really sure that they would end it in a completely fulfilling way to be honest, especially after the last couple of eps. Oh well, it couldn't keep going forever... following was the fun part for me ^^.

I did like
Laura Roslin's last day with Bill Adama
and
Gaius and 6's hallucinations appearing to the real 6 and Gaius at the same time during that one scene XD
. But really, I was expecting a logical explanation for the more supernatural elements and I thought the kind of spirituality they pulled out at the end came from left field (there is spirituality in the series, yes, but it operated in a different, more believable way until those last scenes). My opinion. Just a lot of strange choices that didn't fit the feel of the rest of the series. Kind of heavy-handed... and preachy ><

Poor Anders. There's no way I'd let him go like that if he was my hybrid-husband XD. He seemed sort of happy in his own way though I guess, but still...

Ick, I finally got to watch this and it was horribly disappointing. What were they thinking? I also felt it was ripped off many other stories about Earth and where we came from. Gah! I could go on but I REALLY hated this ending and wish it could have stayed a bit more sci-fi.

I have to say I was highly unimpressed by the finale. I think the series should have ended when they arrived at the original earth. Everything that happened after that seemed kind of pointless.
Starbuck being an angel . . . did you guys get writer's block? All that hype for that weak answer. I HATED Apollo being left completely alone. Dee killed herself and Anders finally died (YAY! :D ) so he and Starbuck could get together. But no! Starbuck's killed off so Apollo can't even keep his friendship with her. And his dad goes off to live alone.

I got so annoyed by everyone wanting to live alone. Um, how will Earth 2 repopulate if none of you are together? The worst plot line ever has to be Hera's. Again, all that hype for nothing. My brother tried to explain that one to me but it was too much of a stretch for all the hype they gave her throughout the series. Anyone could have been the "oldest discovered human remains".
Overall though, I liked the series. Just those final episodes were such let downs.

I did like the
150,000 years later part. That was funny. :) And I can accept the technology being driven into the sun. I just can't accept that they did it before they had food and shelter to get them started on the simple life.

Yeah, the 'alone' part bugged me and others too. I didn't buy it. And yeah, after 5 years of desparately trying to survive, I thought the lack of securing preparations was a bit weird.

Oh! I think they should just discount this ending and make a new one XD. I said to someone the other day, I'd love to see an entire series consisting solely of different possible final episodes XD. Despite the writer's block this time (yeah complete with rip-off of a dozen other sci-fi stories, as buttr said), I'm sure someone could come up with at least 4 interesting alternate endings to this series. They could call it BSG: The End :D .

You know my dad brought up an interesting point too.
They never really explained who created the cylons if this is a big cycle.
I like the idea of other people creating better endings. I seriously just groaned when we learned what Starbuck had become. Gah...
