Shintaisou Shin 1 (okay/fair - 5.2):
It was okay. It was quite different from the first series. The first series was all about
,
and
. THIS series actually seems fairly normal. The guy wearing the female student leotard kinda feaks me out though. lol
Ichigo Mashimaro 8 (watching it unsubbed - okay/decent - 5.5):
Nice summer festival episode. I thought it was funnier than the last episode (although the last episode wasn't written to be "funny" like this one).
Square of the Moon 3 of 4 (okay/decent - 5.5):
There's a decent plot to this compared to most adult anime. But if it were a non-adult anime I think it'd still be somewhat average. It had a slight X feel to it. Without seeing the last episode this would probably be around 45th to 50th on my all time favorite adult anime list.
Shakugan no Shana Prelude - Nice animation, but I'm not expecting the TV series animation to look as nice.
Jigoku Shoujo (Hell Girl) promo - Was this inspired by Lain or what?
Bleach 50 (okay/fair - 5.2):
I thought it was sorta funny, but it was too similar to the episode that came out earlier. And where was Ichigo's body during all of this?
Erementar Gerad 25 (decent/fairly good - 5.7):
Unlike episode 24 which was more suspenseful toward the end, this one was more suspenseful throughout. But unfortunately I thought it was more cliched and predictable too. I guess this show won't go out with quite the bang I thought it would, but I'm still eager to see the last episode.
Tsukuyomi Moon Phase 9 (decent/fairly good - 5.7):
Decent action scenes with some noteworthy interior designs. I've forgotten how much I missed watching this show.
Shuffle 10 (decent/fairly good - 5.7):
The Dark Side of the Force is beginning to make it's appearance.
The director said he wanted to make this show different from other ren'ai game adaptions and I can see it's going in its own direction. He's not using the overlapping feathered approach of telling the girls stories like the Kanon TV series nor the One by One approach of the AIR TV series. But the question arises - Does his method make sense? One thing's for certain. The story structure is less predictable than usual.

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Ah cool...I assumed you stopped watching "Shuffle!" a long time ago Ashura.
Bleach 51 (fairly good - 6.0):
Pretty enjoyable episode. But my friend says that Bleach is now just like Naruto. One fight leads to another fight which leads to another and another. I've only seen three episodes of Naruto so I can't comment on that.
Erementar Gerad 26 (final)(decent/fairly good - 5.7):
It was an episode without any big surprises, but it was a decent ending for the series. It had a somewhat emotional, but not particularly memorable ending. But I don't finish watching many anime TV series so the fact I even finished it says SOMETHING.
Shintaisou Shin 2 (okay/fair - 5.2):
More of the wacky leotard wearing dude.
Not as "normal" as the first episode. The guy "helps" the main girl out of her doldrums. If you can call that "helping".
Imouto de Ikou 2 (okay - 5.3):
Fairly fun, but rather predictable.
Houkago -Nureta Seifuku - Kagai Jugyou 3 of 3 (okay - 5.3):
Violent endings are such fun.
Looks like we found out where the Night Shift Nurse's main guy's brother works.
Ichigo Mashimaro 9 (watching it unsubbed - okay - 5.3):
Believe it or not this episode centered on Chi-chan - the most ordinary of the four younger girls. It was pretty funny. Avoiding Spoilers - Chi-chan had a "thing" she was concerned about and a lot of the jokes revolved around this "concern".
Shuffle 11 (okay - 5.3):
The first half was a hyper comedic skit involving Mayumi. The second half was about the homeroom teacher with the long name. Having seen these types of jokes before they didn't come off as that funny to me. But at least the jokes were done differently than the OTHER anime I seen. I gotta know what Mayumi was telling to Rin while she was

Just finished up Samurai Champloo. I'll admit that I cried.
But, now I'm in a dilemma. I can't decide whether I like Mugen or Jin best. I'm leaning towards Jin, but what the heck, I'll glomp 'em both.
I'm sure somehow, somewhere, those two are wondering why they have such a feeling of foreboding and cannot stop shaking.

Just got back from a couple of fine flicks.
A History of Violence: Damn fine filmmaking from David Cronenberg once again. Instead of relying on visual creepiness and bodily violations to make us squirm, he uses subplot and awkward interactions to get the job done. Don't get me wrong, it has its share of extremely violent and visceral moments. However, it is the man at the center of the movie that is the star. Viggo Mortenson does a hell of a job portraying a man who is not what he appears to be. Ed Harris has a short, but intense role as well. Best part of the film has to be William Hurt. He had some of the best lines in the film. I give this one a B+!
Serenity: Do yourself a favor if you have not watched the series...rent it! Then, go see this excellent screen adaptation for yourself. I've heard reviews from folks who say that this is nothing more than a Star Wars fan's wet dream. That it is Joss Whedon's homage to the holy trilogy. That Mal is nothing more than a Han Solo ripoff. I love Han Solo, but Han would have his ass handed to him by this crew. I see this as Whedon's big "F You!" to the sci-fi genre that Star Wars creator George Lucas has given us. Sterile and bulky warships? Villains in clean uniforms that never hit their targets? Bad guys who hold back in battle? Good guys who have a moral code? None of that is present in this film. In one of the best scenes,
This is a gritty, dirty, funny film with more action than all of the previous Star Wars films combined. Hail Joss Whedon, and his redefinition of science-fiction! This film gets an A!

Why would you say that? I really like Shuffle. The girls are cute and the guy is really nice and laid back. He doesn't act stupid like Tenchi and a few other guys in different animes when they are surrounded by girls that like them. Are you watching them subbed or raw, because if you are watching them raw, it would explain why you keep watching them so much sooner than a lot of us.
Just started watching Eureka 7 and I can't get past ep 3, it is just not my cup of tea....so I rewatch Hauru no Ugoku Shiro (Howl's Moving Castle) *yum!*

I said that because I don't think you've mentioned seeing any Shuffle! episodes since July 26th.Ashura wrote:Why would you say that?

Yeah it's a nice change. The old "guy-who-panics-when-he's-close-to-a-girl" cliche is very repetitive. Rin reminds me somewhat of Hiroyuki in To Heart. But Hiroyuki was more on the grumpy side.Ashura wrote:I really like Shuffle. The girls are cute and the guy is really nice and laid back. I'm watching them raw. I'm too eager to wait for certain shows subs to come out. I refer to Blogs or Anime Forums to fill in the details of what I don't understand. For example:Ashura wrote:Are you watching them subbed or raw,

For some shows watching raws works, but for others it's useless. For Peto-peto-san it WAS useless. But it worked for Erementar Gerad (even without any raws discussion) because the plot was fairly basic. For GunxSword episode 7 onward it's in between because there's too much plot and too little discussion about it to fill in the proper plot points.
The other reason I watch raws is because sometimes the artwork from the series shows up and I'm not in the mood to rush-watch something at the last minute to find the scenes in the sketches or to get the most accurate feel for how much I like the show (or not).
