Now that I have that off of my chest . . . The reason our gas prices are so low is because our country controls most of the world's gasoline--and I don't mean that we are
producing gasoline.
Actually, I think Arizona's gas prices might be about $0.20-$0.50 lower than what you guys are naming . . . But, we have no reliable public transportation, so I'm sure that our state government puts more money into subsidizing prices.

No subways/trains to maintain. Just miles and miles of concrete as we slowly build an oven around ourselves.
But as far as more efficient cars go, from what I've heard, there was a man who created an engine that got outstanding gas mileage--something like four times better than the norm . . . but he sold out to the gasoline industry, and there's obviously no way that
they will ever put more efficient engines on the market. Just something I heard from a government teacher.
