Plus based on your slander debate wouldn't it be wise NOT to post the number which would identify them? :?
Not to put words in Yoshito's mouth but I do think he ment to post "I would advise NOT posting the number here. "
That's why I used the confused emoticon :?

Sorry, don't have any shotguns to polish. Do have a nice shiny watch.

Hope that nugget gets what he deserves though. A nice swift kick in the groin. Along with jailtime with a new "friend".

That really stinks. I hate telemarketing as a general thing. I know that in general the person on the other end is just some working schmo trying to to a job and make a living, but the entirety of it raises my already too-high BP.

That having been said, I voted call the police. Not because I think they can do much about the situation if it's actually a legit telemarketing outfit, but because I keep wondering about the possibility that it's some a-hole trying to tick you off. And THAT kind of harrassment is not acceptable under any kind of circumstance. In fact, even the idea makes me nervous.

Plus, double check the no-call registry because it runs out after awhile. (Yeah, I know, you probably have done that already). I have to re-up us, as a matter of fact. It's amazing what crap people will try to sell you way after working hours. ("Hey, moron! If I wanted something from your company *I* would have contacted *you*! During business hours, even!")

- ask them to spell EVERYTHING.
- pretend there are seven of you at home and each time give the phone to someone else, using a different voice.
- do the same using the same voice.
- pretend the have reached a call centre : "your call is important to us". "your call may be monitored for training purposes."

etc...

it works for me.
Boy am I glad that you didn't go to my university, Gabriel.

If you really want to scare them, say:

"Hey, are you using SmartCall?"

Chances are, that's the computer program that they're running. Make sure that your voice is sugary-sweet and inquisitive. :D
Not Sir Phobos wrote:No he didn't give a name, we obviously didn't get the company name, and frankly if the guy curses out callers and hangs up on them I don't really think he will give a call to his supervisor. I'm going after the company itself! THEY are the one who gave this goober a job and THEY put him in contact with my wife.
Eehh, I should have known, based on the way he treated your wife. I know I always gave the phone to my sup. if the alumni asked for it . . . and I promise I never cussed them out. Actually, I was always very good about being polite. I've been a liberal, a conservative, and a moderate on the phone. :D

Basically, telemarketers are people who have no training to do other things in life (yes, I admit I have none--I'm in college! Plus, I wanted a job on campus). Or they might be people who have been laid off or something. But I do encourage you to go after the company . . . it's the only way you will get your message across; I highly doubt that you will ever be able to contact the call center directly. With my job, people were much better informed as to how to contact us, since all the people we call are alumni.

My only wish is that his sups. happened to be monitering that call (they usually do that on a monthly or bi-monthly basis--or if your not getting any donations/sales) so that they fire him. He deserves it, no matter how badly life has been treating him. Why? Because he wasn't doing his job. Plain and simple. But I wouldn't doubt that he acts this way a lot, so he should get the boot eventually.

I've been working furiously and putting the puzzle pieces together slowly as they come. I've had to go through 2 companies and finally got satisfaction. I GOT AHOLD OF THE CALL CENTER'S MANAGER!!! :dgrin

Talk about ass rippin' and apologizing  :l

If you google things long enough and you know where and how to check you can make things happen.

I'm going to go do a happy dance now. bye.

2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.

Sweet, justice prevailed for once. Hope you got the Manager to give you your time back, since it took a bit of patience and time to discover who they were.
