I asked but I have not heard anything yet.... We will see.
I talked to my mentor at Duke and he said even though I get funds for travel and things I might not be able to spend them all.... So he thinks it might not be really affecting me so much.... But we can buy huge computers
FOr NCSU, I know several people already so that I can start doing research right now. So this is a big plus for my career.....

Now that you have made the decision it is the correct one, because you will make it so. Congratulations on accepting the greater challenge and bigger opportunity to grow. I am sure that it will be a great adventure

YAY!!!
Wow, I bet that's a huge load off. Wonderful!
You were probably right to go with the place that made you feel more excited. It's a huge decision, but it's DONE
And you'll get to see your North Carolina buds at conferences and so forth, so it really won't feel as though you've left them behind completely.
So now you're going to be a busy lady for awhile... when's your start date?
Oh and huge kudos to that great guy of yours, by the way. Nate did the same thing for me, just took a great leap of faith and moved out here so I could take the job. It's not EVERY guy that would feel comfortable doing that!

Thank you, thank you very much. I would like to thank everyone who helped. . .

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Congratulations on your decision.
The Kentuckians I have met have all been very nice, although they have this curious habit of describing their location in relation to its proximity to Ohio
!
They serve a very unusual kind of chili called "Skyline Chili" that has cinnamon in it and is often served over spaghetti, and they make an excellent bourbon whisky called "Maker's Mark" . They use it in the mint juleps that are drunk during Derby Season (first weekend in May). I think they'd be pretty good in August too!
Please keep posting on your UK experience now that you have piqued everyone's curiosity!
