I love ferrets! I'd have one, but I'm sure my Chihuahuas would try to eat it! I have 6 of them: Chewey, Rosey, Phoebe, Fluffy, fluffy puppy (yes, we ran-out of names!), and Loco. I also have a golden retriever (Cooper), a chocolate lab (Mocha), and a mutt (Apple) and 2 cats (Mai and Kamari)Shampoo wrote:Im the odd one, Ive got weasels for pets lol!
2 ferrets, an obese albino male named Tony (lives w/ my mom)
and a skinny lil silver mitt female runt named Christy (she lives w/ me)
Pets! What do you have?

How much would you pay for it?

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Believe it or not, your pups would probably be afraid of the ferrets! Even the sweetest natured ferret I ever had would nip and keep in line any dog or cat that tried to mess with him. Weasels may be small, but they are tough & strong!I love ferrets! I'd have one, but I'm sure my Chihuahuas would try to eat it!

LOL You've obviously never had much contact with Chihuahuas! They fear NOTHING. I used to work at a pet shop, so I'm quite aware of how feisty ferrets can be and I can tell you, without a doubt, they'd stand no chance against the Chis (especially not 6 of them!). Granted, the Chis might lose and eye in the process, but I'm quite certain they'd win in the end.vapalla wrote:Kisara wrote:

OK, here are the pics. Since I was a youngun I've had numerous pets- rabbits, hamsters, mice, guinnea pigs, slow worms! heh Now it's just the three cats which we've had since kittens. [clikky for biggie piccy]

Tigger (AKA Bill-sama), Kitten (AKA Kitts), Leo (AKA Lao-san). Tigger's 18 years old and he's pretty slow on his feet nowadays and has some breathing problems following a throat infection a while back. He's the best cat, always happy, friendly and will try to make others feel better if they're sad.
Kitten acts like the queen, she loves attention and likes getting her own way. I took this picture while she sat on my chest! She's about 11 now but her name wasn't originally Kitten- it was Sprite since we got her on halloween.
Leo is a massive panther of a cat. All brawn and no brain, yet he's terrified of strangers. The youngest at 6/7 years old, no-one in the family likes him, except me, so he spends a lot of time sleeping on my bedroom floor. He's not popular in the family because he can't play without digging his claws in and biting and he's not very socialble. He looks really mean in this pic showing off his viper fangs but he's actually just yawning- one of the things he does ALL the time. Both he and Kitten used to fight all the time but they've calmed down now and the hissing is kept to a minimum

Heehee...Too much fuziness!
I have 6 snakes: A ball python named Ping Pong, a large hognose named Itty (she used to be), a small hognose snake named Ditty, a 6 foot bright orange everglades rat snake named Shadow, a 5.6 foot black rat snake named Sunshine, and a rapidly sprouting red-tail boa named Gulp!
I also have two turtles, a painted turtle named Tusky for where he was found, and a map turtle named Oishii. There is also a lizard bopping around named Experiment 1, and beta-fish named Aristotle.
And I have two more red-phase baby hognose snakes on the way!
I mean, who couldn't love this guy?

WOW
That's quite the snake!! He's gorgeous!!
As promised: too many pictures.
First we have the Crotchedy Old Ladies (tm). In their usual position, pretending that they really don't like each other. Brandy is the Yello Cat on top, and the TortieLump on the bottom is Buffy. Both these fine old madames were born in 1987.

Here's Brandy with the trademark "crotchedy" look.

Buffy really does have eyes, and they're a fabulous bronze color...but this is the way we usually see her these days.

And then there's the relative youngster of the bunch (born in 1992). It's hard for me to get a good picture of Emily because she's usually on my chest, under my chin. In this shot she's just on my leg (note the jeans).

Here's the most recent pets, the five fish. It's really tough to get a decent portrait of a fish, but in the upper left are Dandelion (female swordtail) and Midnight and Cowboy (male and female Black Mollys). I found Puss and Boots (2 Corey Catfish) in front of the leftmost rock, at the bottom... but they're tiny and greenish and hard to see even in the best of moments.

Finally. This cracked me up. We call this one "Busted!" because we caught Emily wondering what was moving in the tank...

Wel, looks like Painter will be saying goodbye for a while. I am moving to a new place in October and they don't take pets. Luckily, my mother lives in Henderson and will be taking him in. She is like a second parent to him, so he will be right at home. And I will be babysitting Painter and her puppy often enough in the future. It will be sad not to have my little man here every day, but at least he will be taken care of and I can see him whenever I want. There are just not that many places here that take pets, especially large pets.
Time is but an illusion. Lunch time...doubly so.

That's terrible!
I feel your pain, blueheaven- that was actually my motivation to buy my condo- it was either that or find a new home for Rontu.
You'd think people would be more pet-friendly. No offense to small-dog people, or even cat people, but the small dogs we had growing up were much more destructive than Rontu is. They would have "accidents" on the carpet often, part of it just because they had such a small system. The cat has also been known to "shred" carpet.
I gave up and tiled my house. Much more pet friendly.
But still- I'd rather have a tenant with an animal than one without. At least I know that they have to be home every night to feed the dog... would seem to me to be much more of a reliable person.

Thanks Hanaeleh. I call Painter my dog, but my mom and I have joint custody of him really. She was his original owner, but since she worked such crazy hours she needed me to take him when I moved out a year ago(yeah, I lived with my folks till I was 26, I'm a loser). She has taken on a new job description now that gives her better hours, and she has a new puppy which Painter adores(they are like Big Brother and Little Brother). Her boyfriend goes hiking twice a wekk, so he'll be taking Painter to the mountains all the time! So, I'll still get to see him a few times every month. It's cool, because I am glad that he is going somewhere that I can see him and I know he will be loved.hanaeleh wrote:That's terrible!
