Best spyware protection?

Subject kinda says it all

Right now all I'm running is McAfee - all of it. Firewall, virus protection, and privacy service. But since I've been online more lately, my computer has started lagging incredibly. :p I figure I must have picked up spyware that got past McAfee. When I had my last computer (died about 6 months ago, give or take) I had like 3 anti-spyware programs on it, and for the life of me I can't remember what they were. I think one was Spybot ...

Anyway, any suggestions on good freeware? Its driving me nuts to be crawling like this.

I use Spybot Search & Destroy (at http://www.safer-networking.org ) and Ad-Aware ( http://www.lavasoftusa.com )

Lots of people also use Microsoft's Antispyware & other stuff, but between these two and that I also use Mozilla Firefox (some will dispute Firefox's safety) as my browser - I haven't had spyware problems in a loooong time. Of course, you also really have to watch the sites you visit and links you click
