I'm thinkin. . . "big arsed screen!"

Post by kisara »

So contrary to popular belief, I've not totally neglected da shop. Okay, maybe I've not being doing a lot on-line, but. . . ah ha! I now have my own "shop'! Yay! It would be in the circled area of the massive, unfinished building in the photo. (There's a pic of the interior on the frontpage of me ebay store). But ANYHOOO. . .

I dunno about y'all. But that big, white, empty space on the building there is just screaming (SCREAMING) "movie screen!" I'm thinkin' about Summer weekends with Ed and Al bigger than life on a big arsed screen in my front-yard, a few hundred friend, a grill. . .

Y'all with me? (Other parties need. . .influenced)
Added a note below, but thought I'd add it here. If I were to do this (down the road, James!) It wouldn't be something I'd charge for and rights would be legally obtained before all showings (surprisingly easy to do when you're not charging for "tickets")

I, the voice of reason, say no. One thing at a time Katie you crazy moo!!

That could be an amazing addition once you're a big-time, successful entrepreneur but until then, try to hold back your loopy plans and big ideas until you have the standard meat & potatoes.

lol Okay. Maybe I should have added a note there. All rights to things shown will have been obtained and this is not anything I'm going to charge for. Getting rights for public showing is fairly easy as long as you're not selling "tickets" to view.

And y'all crack me up. Not doing this tomorrow, James. Just saying. . I see potential there. :P

Perhaps. Tell me why you should.

Are you thinking projection onto that nice big open spot??

Because wow that would be great. I wouldn't think it would cost THAT much to rent projection equipment and it would make a heckuvan advertising plug for the shop that just "happens" to sit behind it.

If you're talking BUYING one of those very expensive huge enormous wide screens... then yep, I'm with the "venerable" Krafty. Pay for the stock in the store first :P

But hey, throw a big party and invite everyone. There's nothing so much fun as a few hundred insane anime fans in the same spot. :-)

Don't think I'm putting a dampener on your grand scheme Kate, I'm all for you putting up a massive projection on the wall! I could probably even see it from where I am if the sky's clear ^__^

One important thing to remember... BIG SOUND SYSTEM too! Ohhh yesss!

Sounds like a cool idea. There's a house in a neighborhood near my parents' that plays a movie on the wall every Halloween. It's a whole lot of fun. :D
