Favorite Song of the 80's
It was an unusual decade of music... anything from it you like or that gets stuck in your head?
Right now I've got "Your the Best Around" or whatever it's called from Karate Kid stuck in my head. lol.
I also happen to have fond memories of "We Built This City, Safety Dane and Final Countdown."
lol. Yes, I'm only 21.

How did you get Your the Best Around or whatever it is called from Karate Kid stuck in his or her head Where did you find the Best Around or whatever it is called from Karate Kid stuck in his or her head? Next question? Don't be so modest. I meet a lot of 21 year olds on here.

Congratulations Cloud, I think that's one of the most incoherent, dumb things you've ever said!

of course Billy Joel had "We Didnt start the fire"

Gosh! 80's!!
When MTV actually showed... music?
I couldn't possibly pick out a favorite, but among the 15 hours of mp3s on my machine at work are tons of these songs. Lots of em are really kind of dopey little songs, but they were intensely sing-along-able. Think "Shout" by Tears for Fears. I have fond memories of zipping up and down I-95 in parts of Maine with the Spouzal Unit, singing this dumb ditty at the top of our lungs
"Take on Me"... (can she hit the low note at the beginning... can he get squeaky enough for the high note at the end...) Whee! good times.
And anything and everything by Heart.
Oooh and a little-known personal favorite, just because we spent so many midnights in line with nutwads dressed like the characters in Rocky Horror... "I Do the Rock" by Tim Curry.

Oooo the 80s... I think the songs I get stuck in my head from the 80s are mostly the tunes from the Breakfast Club soundtrack!
Though Blackmegabyte mentioned most of the other ones I tend to like too - I still like New Order... hahaha... "Bizarre Love Triangle" by New Order was great too.
I'll stop cuz I could name so many... lol!!

The Doctor : … and then, just to finish off, I’m going to wipe every last stinking Dalek out of the sky !
Dalek : But you have no weapons ! No defenses ! No plan !
The Doctor : Yeah ! And doesn’t that scare you to death ?

Adam and the Ants aren't far from my memory despite my age... Stand and deliver!
Oh and "You Spin Me Round" by Dead or Alive.
And not forgetting Bonnie Tyler. I remember when I was quite small going on holidays to Devon and my mum used to put a tape on in the car with random 80s/early 90s songs. I always liked "Holding out for a Hero" best.
Hm... too many that I like since it's one of my favourite decades for music... Blue Monday, Tainted Love... And Zerospace, I love the Breakfast Club soundtrack! ^_^ I only saw that movie within the last couple of years and loved the music. And to find it has my favourite Simple Minds song on there too is a bonus.
Can't miss out Pat Benatar's All Fired Up from this list either. n.n
Gabe's just made me want to listen to some Dire Straits now. *rummages through CDs*

Oh yeah, and top those two off with the Weird-Al rendition of Money for Nothin'

nothing quite like the synthesized sounds of the 80s.... nyah!
