I remember reading about this case a few months ago. I'm glad to see Eric has made nothing short of a miraculous recovery. As someone who's gone through the ridiculous process of ID theft and trying to verify that "I am me" (quite the Freudian roller-coaster, like living out the last couple episodes of Evangelion), I cannot even express the range of emotions this story put me through. But maybe, in the end, it did help Eric survive. Maybe certain things are meant to happen.
Still though, I feel 16 months just isn't enough time for Mr. Gibson (but the conviction record from the U.S. District Attorney's Office does make for some relatively nice closure
