Happy Valentine's Day! Meet our new Feline Family Members!

Post by vapalla »

Well, we were able to pick up our two siamese kittens just before the sart of the big snow that buried us in 14". The nice thing about the snow is that my daughter had an extra day to spend with her new friends before she had to go back to school. She named the seal-point kitten Neji, and the blue-point Kamui. They have very different personalities. Neji is very out-going and in-your-face, Kamui is more level-headed. I'm glad we decided on the pair as it is making it easier for them to adjust to their new home.

They were a combined Christmas/Valentine's present. We picked them out at Christmas, and brought them home in time for Valentine's day!

So, anyone else want to share their Valentine's gifts?

I just sent you an email, Vapalla, but I had to pop in here and say:

EEEEEEEEEE!! Those kittens are SO KEWT!!!

*insert any number of fangirl-squeeing-type emoticons here* :D

They really are adorable. I love Siamese cats, because they have so much personality. They can be a lot of wacky fun. I had a really big Siamese tomcat when I was growing up. (He weighed almost 20 pounds! X| ) He was tons of fun. Well, to me. Not so much for my mom, as he made it his mission in life to stalk her. 8O

I was not expecting anything for V-day, but my hubby surprised me with a new video Ipod. I'm trying to figure out how to convert my TnN files so I can upload them on there. :D

Thanks for sharing the kitty pics!! They really are adorable. Your daughter must have been thrilled at getting them.

WOW! Your new kitties are amazing! It's so nice to have new pets when they're young because you can play about with them a lot and learn about their personalities and they can learn about you too. I'm sure they'll be loved and give back a lot of affection too.

Valentines day? *meh* no-one loves me and I have no-one to love either Image

Oh My Gosh!! They are so BEAUTIFUL!!!

I absolutely have tears in my eyes! What wonderful babies!!! and what a wonderful thing to adopt them both. They will be much happier kitties together.

My Valentine gift is a Player to be Named Later -- hubster knows me too well. "The Way to a Girl's Heart is Through Her Manga!" :love2

Actually, my real gift is yet to come, and it's a reverse gift. If there's an advantage to be had in waiting until you're 40ish to have kids, it's that you feel no compunction about spoiling them rotten and often have the wherewithal to do so. I had already gotten them each a toy they hadn't gotten for Christmas, but today "the jewelry lady" was here at school. Sooooo, being one of the least jewelry-like people on earth but loving jewelry in spite of it, I picked them each up a sterling silver pendant.

Jen gets a dragon. Trust me, she is going to go end over end with this. EJ gets the Eye of Horus with a polished piece of meteorite set in it. This is going to be the uttermost in coolness for her because in her Odyssey of the Mind group this year they're doing Ancient Egypt.... and she's the Pharoah. She's also an huge Yugioh fan.

I can't wait! I harumphed at them this morning "what? it's not Christmas... what's the big deal?" :P :P Love surprising them.

These will be our first. We have 5 bengal cats, and we thought that siamese would be a good mix. The bengals haven't been kind to our only domestic kitty, but the siamese already show signs that they can't be pushed around so easilly! Adding them to the fold isn't going to be instantanious, but so far, so good! Yes, my daughter loves them already, and I am a cat nut too, which is how I was easilly talked into 2! (The second is MY present!)

Let me know if there is a way to look at AVIs on your ipod. Anime-on-the-go would be SWEEEET!

They really have distinctive personalities already. Neji charges into situations without a thought, while Kamui seems to calculate what the best move is. Neither are fazed by being hissed at by the other cats since they came from a multi-cat household. The hissing has already faded, and I think that at least one of our cats really would like to make friends, as he is very playful. The siamese were raised in a home with kids, so they are very social.

Hehehe! We have 8 cats now!! AND 3 dogs! I'm glad we have 3 floors to the house so they tend to be spread out all over! No more new pets for another 5 years.

I know exactly what you mean. I forgot that I bought another really special present for my daughter! Anyone who knows her, knows that her absolute favorite anime is Wolf's Rain, and her favorite character is Toboe. She made me stand in line for HOURS for the signature of Toshihiro Kawamoto, the character designer. Someone on BETA was selling a pretty drawing of Toboe recently, so I arranged to get it in time to give it as an extra Valentine's Day present.

I hope to get it framed for her.

Baakay, it sounds like everyine is having a great Valentine's Day at your house too!

Ahhh!! Those kitties are so cute! :D

For Valentine's Day, all I got was some candy from random people I hardly know. :shrug Not that I mind all that much--I didn't even remember it was Valentine's Day until someone gave me something. :emb

Hey, Kay? Do you want to adopt me? :P My mom didn't even call me, let alone give me anything. X|

Bah. Haven't spoken to my mom in years. <.<

My husband called and asked if I wanted flowers, then forgot to get any. X|

I figure somehow the two things are related. :P

They're adorable!!!
My two boys are half saimese and the absolutly best thing about them is how vocal they are. All I hear all day is marow mow this and marow mow that. They talk so much I can even tell if they're talking to each other or want me to come validate their existence.
Have fun I'm sure they'll brin much joy!

8O What's truly scary is that... welll... um ... how to put this:

I wouldn't then be getting quite so many "what beautiful granddaughters you have!" comments. X|

:puzzled

The reactions to the necklaces were every bit as satisfying as I'd hoped. Jenny of course was overwhelming in her praise of me as the best mom she'd ever had ("good thing, kid, cos you're not gonna have much of a selection on that front..."). EJ said "THAT. IS. SOOOO. KEWL." and put it on and hasn't had it off yet. :dban

Then you could try to pass Jenny and EJ off as my kids . . . people would believe it, I assure you. X| My older sister often got comments on her "cute baby"--our littlest brother. She's 21 and he's almost 8 . . .
