Recommend 5 songs you listen to at the mo, & why! (Optio
Just wondering what music you guys are into really! I know quite a few people are into their J-Pop, but I was just wondering whether there is anything in particular or any bands or groups you'd all recommend really.
So recommend 5 songs you listen to at the moment and why, you don't have to list why, but it's always interesting to know why some people choose certain songs.
I'll have to think about mine, but I think a discussion about music is certainly a must.

I'll preface by saying that I have weird taste. I thought about this as the five songs I find myself starting with if I turn on my ipod.
Macross 7 (Fire Bomber) - Remember 16 (acoustic version from the Heart & Soul M7 Movie single). I don't know why, but I love this version of this song.
Wild Arms Original Soundtrack - opening theme (Into the Wilderness). The song is haunting and just grabs me every time I hear it.
Janet Jackson - Again. Another song that I just love listening to
Rockapella - Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego theme song. I loved that show.
Dai-Guard opening theme (can't remember the name of the top of my head, something or other Uchuu Shounen). I just picked up the cd soundtrack a month or so ago, and there's something about the song I just like.
Bonus - I've been listening to the Anastasia movie soundtrack a lot lately. But I don't listen to just one song - always all the way through. It makes me happy.

Music's my thing ^__^
1. COUNTACH - 13 Days [click for a 1:05min 771kb demo MP3]
This whole album is amazing, recently got it through with 10 other CDs and I haven't had chance to play the others as this has been on rotation for the last 4 days. Great southern groove rock; and Dan's vocals are perfect.
2. RIDGE - Fuelle [click for a 1:05min 765kb demo MP3]
This is my favourite song of all time and I listen to it regularly. High-energy fuzz rock; I just love the overall sound, it's perfect in every way- solid percussion, fuzzy guitars and laid-back vocals.
Shame this Swedish band only forged one album
3. BOBBY BYRD - Hot Pants [click here for a 1:01min 719kb demo MP3]
Hard percussion that REALLY thumps, few funk tunes of the early 70's had this much power, it's a dancefloor classic; his time with James Brown paid dividends
4. SUPER HEAVY GOAT ASS - Backside [click for a 1:16min 669kb demo MP3]
Another track with a lot of groove. I always pick up on bass drum patterns and just love the driving rhythm on this track.
5. SERGEJ THE FREAK - Lady Violet and the Greasing Agent 114 [click for a 1:20min 938kb demo MP3]
Another superb but underrated Swedish Rock band. This particular son has a great structure because there's a lot of subtle variation and there's litle repitition- ie, only one verse, one chorus and the music 'evolves' as it goes. Nice chord changes too. This is one of the only bands that had such heavy, perfectly engineered bass that my 12" sub didn't have any sound distortions ^__^

That's a superb song, it's one of my fave game songs FULL STOP. I whistle it quite a lot...jcaliff wrote:Wild Arms Original Soundtrack - opening theme (Into the Wilderness).
Out of the gloom a voice said unto me;

I only wonder if anyone expected anything else... you'd think that after a decade of Slayers; I'd be sick of it now, but all my CDs in my car are Slayers... and I like those songs the best. Valgarv's image song and Exit Running are also up there on my top 10 list.
Ah well, at least I'm predictable (that isn't a bad thing, right?)

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

oh fun! I'm one of those music people too ^_^ but just 5??!!!
I'll try to come up with a good mix of genres
(band then song)
1. Combichrist -Without Emotion. (industrial)
This song kicks more a$$ than should be legal. I love the percussive nature and unrelenting beat - gets my heart going every time. (on the downside it makes me drive really aggresivly!
)
2. Zeromancer - Hollywood. (elektro)
Reminds me of blue man group for some reason its a little more main stream than I usually like but for some reason I LOVE THIS BAND!
3. Massive Attack - Angel (Trip hop/downtempo)
A total classic but I had to pick it over Portisheads "Wandering Star" and Tricky's "wash my soul" just because its that good. A very sexy, very brooding song.
4.VNV Nation - Serial Killer (futurepop)
I love VNV Nation. Ronin Harris writes the most amazingly poetic lyrics. This song has such a bleak beauty.
5. Wumpscut - Christfuck (EBM)
Just a good song that I've been listening to lately.
I listen to a whole lot of movie soundtracks too but these are more fun

1. Blink-182: Dysentary Gary...ITs been stuck in my head the chorus is catchy and funny if u like "poop" humor.
2. Alkaline Trio - We've had enough....just a good song.
3. The Format - Sore Thumb...I just found out they are goin to play at Michigan State University (where I go). So im excited about that.
4. Kanye West - Diamonds From Sierra Leone...Its a cool song but has a politcal stance to it (blood diamonds)
5. The Pillows - We Have a Theme Song....i wish i had one so i listen to that while goin to class.

Let's see:
1. Early Man (old skool metal) - Evil Is : these guys kick so much ass, you won't be able to sit down for a week.
(follow 1st link to get all the mp3's)
2. Danger Doom (The Mouse and the Mask) - The Mask : I recommend the whole album - adult-swim fans know.

(follow the link to the samples)
3. Gorillaz+ - Get Eastwood : Wonderful mash-up featuring Sean Paul's - Get Busy, Gorillaz's - Clint Eastwood & Black Eyed Peas' - Weekend all mixed together by the genius that is LenLow.
4. Ghost in the Shell (SAC OST) - Run Rabbit Junk : While I've enjoyed both SAC & SAC 2nd GIG, I still tend to like Yoko Kanno's original music from the 1st SAC.
5. The Ferals - Wreckage : All girl punk band out of L.A. - been following these girls since the beginning (I'm friends with the bassist). They're gonna make it big - and you can quote me.

And as an added bonus - I submit the following spec ad for pro x fade (already got Krafty's seal of approval on this one

'Why don't we just mix up absolutely everything and see what happens?' he said.
