My parents had their stored patio furniture moved back onto the deck yesterday and ran across some kittens!!! They called me because I know how to take care of animals, so I went to the pet store to pick up formula and bottles, $36 later I picked up the kittens. They are 2 weeks old and weigh 12 ounces.
I set my cage trap for the queen yesterday afternoon and caught a cat. The problem is we can't tell if it's the queen or not. It looks like a pretty ferrul cat with long hair so we couldn't see if it had teets or not. I dropped off the cat at the vet this morning so they can check it for a microchip and teets. Either way we'll spay/neuter this one, pay for the shots and such, and release it at my house.
This morning was fun though. The cat escaped and I had to catch the furball inside my house with my salmon net. MID AIR catch!!!

I am currently helping my friend find a good home for a 1 1/2 year old chimpanzee. His friend is having a baby, so they have to left the chimp go It may have to go to a shelter, but they still have time before the baby is born.
Two weeks old, poor babes! I'm so glad someone with the know-how has them! The one in front is a dead ringer for my Buffy Lump (and about 19 years younger )
Good work!

I wish I could do had that on tape rollin for you.

1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Picked up the mysterious cat from the vet today......It's the momma!!!!
We're going to set her up in the spare bathroom with her kids and let them reaquaint themselves. Phew, no more 1am feedings
Looks like we'll be keeping 1 kitten, the other may be going to my brother's girlfriend's house. We'll release the momma at our house, after a trip to the free spay/neuter clinic we have great property around our place for ferrul cats. Lots and lots of gophers and moles to munch on.
I'm glad that the mom was the cat you caught. I raised my cat Minuet (now 8! How time flies!) and I swear that she was more work than my actual kid to care for. If the mom is able to settle in and take over, it sounds like the perfect solution.
Well you are doing (lets see...1. saved kittens from feral life, 2. got the mom vet treatment, 3.finding good homes for kittens, 4. fixing the mom...) at least 4 good deeds. That should add up to a lot of good Karma for you and your wife. Hope it comes back to you in spades! Hope all runs smoothly and congratulations on the new addition to the family (whichever one it is)!
