Ripped off!! Just need to vent. NEW UPDATE! Refund!!!

Post by Lynxa »

So I've been looking for a specific pair of jeans for a while. I want the True Religion Joey jeans with the rainbow stitching on the back pocket. They are ADORABLE and I need them to continue living. (Okay, that's a little dramatic, but they are GORGEOUS).

I bought one pair on uber sale, convinced I would be able to fit in them, but even after a good washing they were still too big (I'm re-selling them now on the 'bay :( ). So, I find another pair on e-bay, new with tags, and I win them at a fairly good price (about normal for what they've been going on e-bay, still less than retail). I get them in the mail today, and they are total fakes. How do I know? I still have a real pair at my house to compare them to!!!! :redhot I mean, they're pretty good fakes, but they are fake. The guitar playing buddah fabric on the inside pocket looks PHOTOCOPIED for crying out loud!!!!

I'm just SO MAD!!!! I already contacted the seller, but I am completely disappointed! I was SO looking forward to being able to wear these great jeans soon!!! :bawl: And now I have to deal with the seller AND find another pair!!!!

I think I'll just end up paying retail and forget the hassle of the bay for a while. :l Thanks for listening to my rant. :hurt:

Knowledge is of two kinds: that which we know from the senses and that which is true "a priori".

Some people on Ebay are huge jerks. I had someone sell me a fake Coach wallet. I hope you can get your money back and finally get the jeans in your size. :)

One of the two times that I've gotten ripped off on eBay was when a seller
sent me a copy of a videotape instead of an original. Sucks that such
unscrupulous people are around.

She just sent me an e-mail swearing they're real and offering to send me a scan of the receipt. I dont' think she's unscrupulous, but they're definitely not real. :( Now the hard part is convincing her that they aren't. I think I'm going to have to scan the inside pockets and the embroidery on the back or something.

AAAAAAAGH! I don't know what to do! :l They're also missing a button, and I told her I'd gladly mail them back to her. I can't resell them in good faith though so I might have to go to paypal with it if she won't refund. :?

Okay, that's just wrong. Having to PROVE something's a fake to the SELLER?? :x Just curious, did she have many negative feedbacks? I'd hate to think she ripped off others in the same way (whether she meant to or not).

Lately, I've been hearing only negative experiences when it comes to eBay. It's kind of sad.. hope this gets resolved (promptly and cleanly, with a happy ending :) ).

...
*does a little searching on eBay*
...

PEOPLE PAY THAT for ONE pair of jeans?

Hell, if pants cost more than $9.99 I pass.
Then again, I have kids to clothe.

I am a thrift store queen!

He he, Zag if you think the e-bay ones are expensive you should see what they go for in the mall!!! :D

Okay, now I need some advice. The seller didn't believe me that the jeans weren't real so I e-mailed her many pictures of her fake jeans next to a pair of real ones. She just e-mailed me back to say: "I'm still not 100% convinced, but please send them back asap so I can give you your credit. Thank you."

So, should I send her the jeans before she gives me a refund? My gut says no, but I'm not sure how to phrase it in a way that doesn't sound VERY RUDE. (I've been trying very hard to be nice and polite.) She's not a very experienced e-bayer, she has a feedback of 50 with 98.1% positive (There's only one negative and it's from her first transaction in '03).

So...yeah. I need advice guys!!! :?

Maybe you can ask the seller for a partial refund and keep your jeans? This is what I did once when the cel was soooooo damaged......

Also maybe you can send the seller with the register and insurance? (of course, ask the seller for the shipping cost....).

If it is registered then if the seller recieve it then you will know right? Then if the seller claims she does not have them then you can go to paypal.... I think....

just my two cents :) :)

I hope everything will work out for you :) :friends:

I've done a lot of buying on Ebay over the years and am still hesitant to send items back before I get my cash. Even if you go through PayPal dispute they will make you send the item back first.

Just mail it with returned receipt, so that if the issue isn’t resolved you will have proof of return .Paypal will need this later if you are forced to open a dispute through them.

Be aware that you will more than likely NOT be refunded the shipping cost and you will be out the cost to ship the item back as well. Some items aren’t worth it but after reviewing the cost of True Religion Joey jeans I see that it may be worth the $ and effort to return.
