Translation please! Not Anime related

Post by Ashura »

Hello, yes, I am back from the dead, though I did manage to pop a bit ago and thank a very understanding Harry  For those of you who didn't know, I was sick for almost a month....3 1/2 weeks...whatever LOL, it felt like forever. I'm much better now and I received an email from my friend's uncle. He has some Japanese writing on the side of Nimitz binoculars that was passed down to him & would like to have translated. Is there anyone that can read what it says?

Would greatly appreciate it! :D

I'm not sure that it's Japanese - I think it might actually be Chinese - but the characters seem to translate to loosen (open) to the left, shut to the right, and the label on the top says that it's a dessicant container (to absorb moisture from the item inside I assume).

Now how cool is that??!!?? :vict

The item, not the being sick for a month! :hurt:
I'm so glad you're finally feeling better!
I've been sick for a few weeks before, and I know how draining it is, and how it takes a toll on your patience and sense of calm.
:friends: I hope you don't get sick like that ever again! :friends:

Why now? I am not sure if I can quantify the answer. I'm glad you like it. Tell your friends. I would if I had any.

So it says open & shut where the arrows end and dessicant container in the middle(I'm hoping you mean desiccant, with 1 "S" and 2 "C"). I wonder why it says desiccant container on binoculars??? Thanks for the translation, I'll let him know.

Thanks Aernath, I'm glad I'm getting much better. I remember my last post before I got really sick was something like, I hope someone shoots me and puts me out of my misery...or something to that effect LOL. I have a really weak immune system, so I'm sure I'll get sick again. Just hoping it won't be as bad :D

Thanks Kittens, I can't read Chinese or Japanese, so now I can tell them with 100% confidence that it isn't Japanese since you can't read it.

If anyone else has any input of what it says, I'd still gladly appreciate it :)

I'll send them to my friend and see if he can read it. Might be hard since the angle and wear, but he should be able to.

P.S. - Glad you're back and feeling better. ^^

I have no idea with regard to the translation, but I wanted to pop in here and say that I'm so sorry you were ill for such a long time! That is horrible! The only time I've ever been sick for that long was when I had walking pneumonia several years ago, and I still remember what a total nightmare it was to be bedridden for a month! I'm so happy you're feeling better. I hope your health continues to improve, so that you're back to 100% in no time flat!

And, good luck with getting the translations you need! With all the smart folks around here, I'm sure you'll have an answer to your question really soon!

*hugs*
