I got to meet CLAMP!!! *dies*

Well, on the first day of AX I waited 6 hours in line for the CLAMP panel. The panel sucked nuts, because the M.C. was this evil, dumb b*tch from Funimation - she mispronounced CLAMPs aliases, as well as some of their characters names. Did you know that according to her, Fai from Tsubasa is really Faye? *groans* And she is the one who will be directing the Tsubasa dub. This almost guarantees it'll suck.
CLAMP themselves were really adorable and cute. Unfortunately their translator was the Ukelele Man (who translates for many conventions across the country)...and he did a half-hearted job and left out a lot of what they said. I also did NOT win a ticket to get CLAMPs autographs.

...but my friend is great! She told me that DelRey had a secret stand-by waiting list...so I got on it! I was about #8...and at noon on the day we asked 80 of the 220 people who WON autographs had not showed up to claim their ticket! Long story short: I got to meet CLAMP in person and get their autographs. My friends and I were cosplaying as Hikaru, Umi and Fuu from the MKR OVAs...and CLAMP complimented us on our costumes!!!!! They stopped us in line and asked us all these questions about it -- they were so cute! *insert fangirl bliss here* Unfortunately they were only signing pre-printed shikishi, but it was still loads of fun. The shikishi have adult Syaoran, Yuuko and Chii on them. The piece was designed specifically for the AX autograph session, so you won't see it anywhere else!

I am so insanely happy right now. *BIG GIANT SMILES*

Congrats (on not fainting, I would've)!!

I also share your concern about translators. I can't believe fans can understand and grasp the concept about the series so much more than translators they HIRE and PAY.

Thanks so much for letting us know about the waiting list!!! I can't believe we also got autographs!!!!

I agree about the panel though. Clamp was pretty cool, but the moderator got on my nerves so badly, and the translator left out quite a bit. Getting to see Clamp in person though more than made up for it all.

Unfortunately, due to some Clamp's and AX's policies, there will not be that many photographs of the event or signing sessions getting out.

I'd say that you owe me your 1st born...but I don't have any good recipes for cooking kids.

I'm glad you guys were able to get spots on the waiting list!

As for everyone else: the shikishi will be scanned and listed in my gallery (along with everything else I've been meaning to update with, including one new goodie from AX). I'll upload cosplay photos later...(Robo Flonne: I was Hikaru!)

Our Rayearth group had *just* gotten out of the autograph session when we were nabbed for an interview by www.deathcom.net - so there should be a movie of us acting very giddy while answering questions out there on the internet somewhere...sometime.
