JC Penney's Catalogues from the 1980s

Post by wELCOME cONSUMER »

Geez, this is a major blast from the past for me. 8O

Looking at these toys, I remember owning so many of them (or wanting
so many of them X| ) hehe

I had at least one of those sleeping bags and my brother owned the
Inspector Gadget doll, which was by far one of the coolest things EVER!

And check out the Michael Jackson cassette players!

A lot of those toys look familiar, but I didn't own any of them as most seem to be "boy toys" :)

I'm sorry, I didn't mean that they couldn't be enjoyed by everyone  But, my parents never let me have boy toys, so I never got to play with them. I did have a lot of My Little Pony, Rainbow Brite, and She-Ra stuff, though.

Yay Rainbow Brite! And while your parents had what sounds like a strict gender-defined toy policy, my parents had the exact opposite. They wanted my older brother and I to grow up as "sensitive" people (whatever that meant at the time). So they bought him a Barbie doll -that he still owns- and I got some Transformers and GoBots. I still love the shows, but I remember cutting open my foot after trodding on the helicoper one...I gave them all away after that.

Ah, the 80's...such crack. :D

Back when I was a kid we didn't have "electronics toys". We were happy just to play a game that used electricity and magnets. :^^:

Ah...magnets! So fun.

Yeah, I remember that wave of transforming toys. I was so jealous at the time because I had reached an age where I was supposed to be "too old" for them. :l The ironic thing is that a couple of years later, I would have been much more likely to buy them. ^_^; Being too old for the toys didn't keep me from enjoying the cartoons though! :)
