Who is (or are) your fav samurai?

Post by kittens »

Lately (or no surprise for anyone :P :P) I realized that I am really crazy about samurai..... (and I won an auction in this morning :D again :P)
Since I realized that I am samurai fetich :P :P I had to ask who are your fav samurai from anime,, movies, novels?

For me, here is a list :)

Anime:
Kenshin (technically he is not samurai but close enough :P) (from RK) :D
Goemon (form Lupin the third) /lv
Jin (champloo) /lv

History:
Oda nobunaga
Katsu kaishu
Date masamune

There are soooooooo many TV shows which I liked but my fav is an old NHK drama series "date masamune" whom Ken watanabe played and I cried at the last episode!!!!

Guess.

Come on, GUESS!! :P

Hmm ok...

Kenshin (complete with standard disclaimers. "Farmer X" just doesn't have the same ring to it)

Mugen and Jin. In that order.

Almost anyone from Samurai 7.

Ran! (Tsukikage Ran)

That's all I can come up with at the moment, but I'm a sucker for guys and girls with sharp swords... samurai or not :)

from Anime:

Himura Kenshin from Rurouni Kenshin TV and Tsuiokuen OVA

Kyo from Samurai Deeper Kyo

Mugen and Jin from Samurai Champloo

Shimada Kanbei, Katsuhiro, kyuzo and Chichirouji from Samurai 7

Okita Souji from PeaceMaker Kurogane

all from THE Hakkenden, but not sure if they count as Samurai since they reincarnated Dog Warriors

There are several others but they are not Samurai, They are more Ninja or simular..

Like Basilisk Yashamaru, Peacemaker Kurogane Susumu, Ninja Scroll Jubei, Kodaimaru,

Ohh tough question, as there are perhaps too many to name in both history and fiction. But it is important to remember that there is a difference between a Samurai and just an ordinary swordsman.

And. Why do you want to do remember that there is a difference between a Samurai and just an ordinary swordsman so much?

I was talking to my hubby but in this case, I would not be picky ;) (since Kenshin is not really saumrai and most of Shinsen gumi members were not as well ;) )

I'm glad you find this amusing. Why? Are they exactly the same?

Jin (Samurai Champloo)
Kenshin (since we're not being picky on the definition of "samurai" here ... LOL)
Hiko (Rurouni Kenshin -- again, since we're not being picky on the definition of "samurai" :D )

And, a new love ...
