Thank god.

I had to buy the German version mentioned in that article to get the better print quality and wide screen. The American version was pure crap by comparison.

It's too bad the article doesn't mention Lester Abrams. His work on The Hobbit was great too, I've always loved his unique art style.

I have heard of the new release and honestly I was going to request the german widescreen version for x-mas before I learned that the new release was coming out in Feb! I am really excited!
