"to perfection"

I hate that word especially when used on menus to describe the item:

.....grilled to perfection
.....cooked to perfection
.....toasted to perfection
.....burnt to perfection
.....picked up off the floor and put on your plate to perfection

hate it... hate it... hate it....

Thank you for reading my rant. No response necessary. Just heard a commercial with that phrase and needed to express my annoyance.

Yeah, I agree. The term should be close to perfection.

As in:

My rejection of Valentine's Day was close to perfection.
