Are you a Vegetarian?

Post by SS Kakarot »

Perhaps this has been asked before, if so, sorry.
Are you a Vegetarian, and if you are, why, really for the Animals, or just because you don't like meat?

I myself am a Vegetarian, because I love Animals, I will never eat anything made from an Animal.

I did a topic like this before (months ago) on a Dutch forum, about 40 people voted, and it turned out that I and one other Member were the only Vegetarians, so that's 38 'yes' and 2 'no'. 8O

I'm very curious how this will go here, so get voting and posting!
Hope that I'm not the only Veggie here! :^^:

"I love animals, I just love to eat them more. Great to pet, better to chew." - Jim Gaffigan

Humans, by design, are omnivores. I don't think it is healthy, personally, to simply eat veggies only. It has been proven that vegetarian diets, by and large, are deficient in many important vitamins and minerals. Especially those that promote a healthy heart and brain (B12, Q10, and Omega3 fatty acids).

I do, however, respect the choice by people to not eat meat. It's your body, and your principles. However, don't tell me that meat is murder or try to change me. I won't shove a steak in your face, so don't call me a killer when I cut into one.

PETA, to me, is the most worthless organization on the planet. They have so many resources and so much backing, and yet they fight for the dumbest causes.

Tonight's Menu: Grilled Ahi Tuna steak with peas and carrots and white wine.

Update: It was yummy. :)

I eat mainly veggies, but that's because I'm too lazy on weekdays to thaw out the meat in the freezer. :P

I am not a vegetarian but I wish I was. I feel so guilty about eating poor defenseless animals especially when you see the cruel treatment they endure before being slaughtered. :(

I use to be a vegetarian a few years back. I was one for about 2 or 3 years then I decided against it.

I am a vegetarian :) So it is VERY hard to go back to Japan because every Japanese food is based on Fish.... (pretty much...... SO I eat basically rice and some pikles..... and nori... and nattou!!!! :) ) :(

The reason is that I love animals and if I do not eat then I maybe can help some animals.
My hubby is not a vegetarian. So I cook some chicken for him sometimes (so I do not against people who eat meats and I do not force my ideas :) )

I'm not a vegetarian, but I know many that are. My aunt is a vegetarian and won't even eat barbeque sauce because of its association with meat. I love meat, but I'm also a huge fish/seafood fan too. Fruits and veggies are important, but I don't think I could live without my dad's blue cheese cheeseburgers! I believe that animals are here for our sustenance, as long as its within reason.

I love meat. :badass

However this does not mean I care any less about animals. I guess its cause I dont have a pet cow I dont mind eating them.. Horrible? Maybe. But its the truth.

Now do I believe in hunting? No. I think its immoral to just kill something for "sport." However I am not going to stop those who believe its "ok" as I cannot control anyones actions but myself.

I can say i'm a semi-vegtarian

For the most part I dont eat meat, with the exception of Bacon, pepperoni, and Mcdonalds Hamburgers(not much meat in'em).

I very rarely have steak. and chicken i cant eat...

I found a feather on a drumstick once, and that was it for me. Then I started wondering where all the other stuff i was eating came from...

Needless to say...its not pretty...however i cant give up bacon and pepperoni pizza! Or milk.......

I actually dont eat many vegetables either......

My basic food groups, Pizza, Spaghetti(no meatballs), PB & J, and Cheese!, and various fruits!

and to add more to the Meat part.....i will absolutely...never...ever....eat fish....again....

Ever since i was 8 in elementary school...i havent eaten fish since...I have nothing against fish. But i cant imagine eating a poor sea creature.(includes anything from the water, Fish, Crabs, Lobsters, clams)

Another thing cant eat..Chocolate, for some reason the taste of chocolate sickens me. And i cant eat it.

Theres my insanely long explanation of how i might be considered a semi-vegetarian. :)

I like meat. It's yummy. I like vegetables and fruits and grains and all sorts of other non-meat foods.

I frequently have cereal for dinner. It's easy to prepare and easy to clean up. (such is the life of the single girl who lives alone  Good times!)

While I don't feel any particular Need for animal meat (veggie pizza is my favorite pizza), I simply could not live with out milk or egg products. There are just too many good things to eat that have milk or egg or both in them (cheese, yogurt, french toast, cake, ice cream...).

Things that are made to look like or taste like meat, egg or dairy products simply can not hold a candle to the real thing. My taste buds are far too picky for that type of thing.

I'm vegetarian (semi) - but that because I don't actually like the taste or texture of most meat. I eat fish though. :)

My house is surrounded by farms (both agricultural and livestock), so I have no problem eating meat. But my brother is a vegetarian, so I'm okay with that, too. I just don't like it when vegetarians try to "convert" me. Hey - if the Christians couldn't do it, what makes them think they'll have better luck? :P

Do I eat meat w/ veggies or just veggies? And why?

That's on a "need-to-know" basis along with religion, politics, finance and 'between the sheets' :P
