Does anyone here know how to knit?
Or do you know someone who does? My former landlord's wife gave me a bunch of yarn because I crochet. Tossed into the heaping garbage bag was some knitting needles. They are approx. 5" long and are attached together by a 16" plastic cord. Why? I dunno - I guess for bigger projects. Anywho, if anyone wants it, I'll gladly give it away for free. Free shipping as well. I don't knit, so it's of no use to me. Thanks!

There sure is.

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

I don't think they turned out too bad, considering I was like 12 at the time.
They were pretty easy to make, too--you just basically had to knit a single sheet of stuff, and then sow up the heel and gather the rest at your toes rather than finishing it off.
I also made a little pom-pom ball for the toes--gah, I probably looked like a dork! But I wore them around for a few years.

Knit, crochet, cross stitch.... sew doll clothes now... I'm a regular grandma...
But with no kids.
I'm actually trying to wade through boxes of yarn myself.
But what color(s) did you inherit? (yeah, listen to me. Trying to not save every last scrap...)
PS - ....you DO know you can crochet with yarn too, right? O_o Just asking. Fwap me if you wish.

I mostly was given thread for crocheting doilies, something that I'm not too fond of doing. I've made three doilies (one was 30" across!) and perhaps that's all I am going to do for a while. I have purple, hot pink, white, off white, etc.
Why would anyone want a hot pink doily???
Well I also know that the thread can be used to crochet/knit borders around baby blankets and burp rags, but I've never done that. It's all packed up but if you are really interested, aernath, I can find out exactly what I got. It's that Aunt Lydia brand thread. If anyone else is interested please contact me. Everything is FREE!!!
aernath, yarn is the ONLY way to go...
