30 Days of Night

Post by RalphVboy »

Anybody here going to see it next month? It's definently on my "to-watch" list when it comes out :D . I've been a fan of the graphic novels since 2003 and love Steve Niles' work. The concept of the original 30 Days of Night always appealed to me and seems so original. Hopefully Hollywood does this movie decent. Regardless I'm going to see it to get my vamp-fix :evilblk

From what I hear of this movie, it sounds like it borrowed heavily from a tales from the crypt episode, also involving vampires and long alaskin nights.

I wouldn't be surprised if that's where Steven Nile's got the idea from. I was never a Tales from the Crypt fan so I never would've known about the concept of 30 Days of Night if not for the graphic novel. Hence, it seemed so original to me when I read it.

Saw the movie opening night and loved it! The only minor thing that bothered me about it was the non-English speaking vampires. Not to say other languages are bad of course, but in the graphic novel they could speak to the people of Barrow and it made the story even more interesting IMO.

Other than that there was plenty of action and gore, along with new stuffage not shown in the graphic novel. Good times :dgrin

Anybody else see it?

Me and the hubby just got back from watching it and let me tell you....

THIS is a Vampire movie!

It was so great! The gore was awesome and lots of freaky shit XD

The ending was a bit...eh...but the rest of the movie makes up for it big time.

I wanna go see it again lol

I didn't think it was scary at all :-(

The gore was good and got better as the movie went on, but I have to say, some parts of it were kinda hysterical. Actually, the whole audience laughed at more than one part, and no one seemed to be taking the movie too seriously. I don't know what it was, but, for me and my friends at least, somehow the "creepy, dark" mood just didn't work in this movie at all.

It was still worth seeing though  vampires!!!
