The great Anime Beta tattoo roundup...? :)

Post by evilminion »

Okay, so maybe it's going to be a two-entry thread, but hey, a girl can hope! I know Shampoo has some Kiba ink, and Blueheaven's got a few great tats going on. Now that my hubby and I have also gone "under the needle", I thought it would be fun to ask everyone here with skin art to show it off!

If there's already a thread for this, just let me know. I couldn't find one, but then, I frequently can't find my own arse in the dark, so that's no guarantee.

I wanna see the pretties!

Those pictures had better be coming soon! :) Can't wait to see them!

And yes, yes, I failed to show off my own tat in the first post. Sorry about that! It's not anime- or game-related, though. I got a raven since my hubby's name means "little raven" in gaelic.

(He, on the other hand, got a chocobo. :D We just don't have a good photo of it yet, since he needs to get it touched up next month. The tattooist made the shading too dark.)

Anything "incredibly nerdy" is bound to be good. .rockon. Promise to share?

Let's see... our tattooist was Will, at Laughing Buddha in Seattle, who looks permanently grumpy but does a great job. The actual art for our tattoos was designed by some of our best friends, since we felt that would be more meaningful than choosing pre-made images or having some stranger design them for us. My raven was done by the inestimable Heather Hudson, she who is called by Wizards of the Coast whenever they want a bird on a Magic card. :) My hubby's chocobo was designed by Phil and Kaja Foglio, fellow gamers and comic-book artists extraordinare. :friends: Hubby and I gave each other the tattoos as our 15th wedding anniversary presents to each other, and I'm so very happy with how they turned out.

C'mon, folks, don't just describe 'em. Scan your arse if need be! :D :D :D

Hehe, I promise to take photos as soon as I can access a digital camera :P The new one I should have a photo of right away since they have a camera at the shop.

As far as designs go, I agree about getting something personalized, never been much a fan of pre-made flash art. The shark was designed by me, with the colour scheme chosen by a friend, and has quite a bit of meaning. Unfortunetly, I'm only on my second tat and already breaking my own rule, the 'secret nerdy' tattoo isn't a unique design, but... well, I still like it plenty :D
But jeeeez, ya'll got artwork from Heather Hudson AND the Foglios? Wonderful artists! :D I've always loved Phil Foglio's artwork, he's got one of the most recognizable styles out there, I'm dyin to see that chocobo! Congrats on such awesome tattoos :)

Wow, Cindy! That is so vibrant and pretty. Such an incredible job. Tats are good fun, indeed. Hope you'll share the next one with us (unless it's in a "private" place  ).

Let's see, just got numbers 8 and 9 on my back this summer. It commemorates my degree and my love of Buffy and Angel.

I have an Amy Brown fairy on the inside of my left arm, Jack and Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas on my ankle and Egyptian eyes on my upper back. I will upload pics if someone can tell me how.

Wow Cindy, that Raven looks incredible! Looks like it's just sitting on top of your back instead of tattooed. 8O Can't wait to see the Chocobo. :D
