Cloverfield

Post by Shampoo »

Lemme just say... if you are prone to nausea
do not eat before you watch the film

O-O

I got to see a special sneak-peek last night
so I thought I'd put out that warning to not
make the same mistake I did :hurt:

LOL!
:hitting:
So for those that did see it..j
whatd ya think of the monster?
I thought it was pretty gross-looking (aka cool
) myself. I really thought the movie was going to be
just another lame Godzilla copycat but overall
I actually enjoyed it :)

I think what I loved the most was the special effects
and seeing the girl's apt building leaning over
it just looked really realistic

The electronics store being robbed was just hysterical
:rollin
I could totally see that happening amidst giant moonster
destroying things just around the corner.
Silly humans
:P

I thought it was freakin awesome. Just came back from it actually. I loved the style and it was extremely well done. People who were disappointed about Blair Witch wont be disappointed with Cloverfield. The effects were on a huge scale even from a "video camera" style.
The monster was wicked looking - I say a mix between a squid, bat, fish, spider and other things :P . You get to really like the characters but things happen that your like "oh shit!" 8O

All I have to say is... That must have hurt to explode :hurt:
All in all I thought it was great but it is a movie that you yourself should judge. 8)

I hated it. Bleh. :? :l It'd be nice if they put a warning to take a dramamine beforehand. wtf.

Our theater did have a warning. But, we ignored it.

I hate that I watched a movie by looking at the actors backs for the majority of the time.
When they weren't moving there was nothing to see, so I closed my eyes, to give my brain a chance to relax. I still left with a head ache and a icky feeling in my tummy.

Even that "Friday Night Lights" movie gave me a headache after about thirty minutes. My astigmatism probably contributed to it.

Now I know better. I'm just going to wait and see this on TV or DVD.

Finally went to see it last night - and I freakin' loved it. Totally went in with no expectations what-so-ever since I haven't seen a good monster movie since I don't know when. The only WOW! feeling I've had that's comparable was the first time the T-Rex appears in Jurassic Park (which was less about the monster/beast aspect and more about "finally...that's close to what it probably really looked and acted like").

What a great ride for a PG-13 movie
aka. Military Training Video.

It's funny, I kept thinking they could really use Hellboy right now.:dgrin
And is it me, or did the parasites sound a lot like Gleep from the Herculoids...

...or is it Gloop?

It just won't be the same, I promise. I suggest sitting in one of the furthest back rows. Another trick is when the action becomes a little too jarring, you should choose a focal point and fixate on it until the action/sensation passes. It helps re-establish equilibrium.

I hope Abrams doesn't screw up Star Trek.
