yes, it's funny, but why was it done? I don't see an explanation other than what was posted in the linked weblog... I mean if the guy was being an ass or something, what level did it go to for Plastic to take it 'that' far?

I mean if it were only a joke on a good friend, I could see that, but retribution on a member (deserving or otherwise) I donno...

maybe I'm a softy...

and maybe I'm just not 'in the know' either - maybe if I was I'd find it funnier

You need to be a regular on RS chat to really get the flavor of Rozendeath (aka, Majin Brian). From day one, he has been a first class ass to people in the chat. I don't think there is a single person on chat that he has not pissed off. Jason was right on to do what he did.

I always question when a mod uses their power like this. I know that places like RS aren't 'private' spaces but its always a shock to the system when one is 'reminded' of this fact...

I know what you mean. I actually appreciate it when mods take an active role on the boards. Jason is usually pretty loose when it comes to what people can and cannot do. However, I am sure he has received his share of complaints about this douche nozzle, and thought that handling it in a humorous way might be more appropriate(and hilarious).

Yeah, well if it's come to this then Jason must have felt the kid needed a little wake-up call. I've never seen him do this in the 5+ years I've been over at RS, and if BH and others seem to feel that a little hazing is appropriate in this case then so be it.

Obviously, the next stage is to completely ban the kid and wipe out his gallery altogether. Now that would be harsh, but necessary unless he learns to try and be civil (reason enough for not getting on the chat myself - I don't play very well with people like him).
