anyone have this shipping problem

Post by MDKiller1 »

Hey All

Ok this isnt the first time this problem has happen to me, but the only time besides now its happen was shipping over seas. An now it has happen while shipping within the states

I shipped a cel out a few weeks ago and it got returned to my post office (however i wasnt aware it got returned until the person emailed me saying they havent recieved their cel) Well I went to the post office to see what was going on and they gave me the package saying the package was to big to ship?? I was like what in the world since it was just a couple of cels I was shipping. I did make the shipping box myself but it wasnt any bigger of a box then I normally use.

Has anyone had this problem? Or do you think theres something up with my post office?

Goodthing I have moved an dont use that post office anymore just incase..

Thanks
Dee

Hi Dee,

Luckily I haven't run into that problem in the past. I've only had a handful of shipped cels that didn't fit into the largest Priority Mail box and in those cases I was able to piece two PM boxes together to fit the overhang.

I buy most of my postage online through paypal or the USPS website and they both ask the dimensions of your package. I would assume it would tell you if your package is too large at that point and that you will need extra postage.

After a quick look on their website, I found the largest a PM package can be when you add length + girth together is 108". That is a very, very large box, lol. It also says if your box is larger than 35"long or 17"wide or 17"high, then you will need to add extra postage.

If you don't think this package is larger than those dimensions, then I would print off the measuring tips page from the USPS website and take it along with your package to your new post office and try to get some sort of refund since it would seem to be their fault. Probably impossible, but at least you can try to get some sort of explanation so they don't return another package in the future.

For a few cels?? Insane. Celga shipped me my Ichigo standee with no problems overseas! (Extra postage, but they shipped it!) (And he was folded very carefully in a couple of places, but still... FAR larger than even the biggest pan cels I've ever seen.)
Sounds to me like someone at your post office (or downline where they maybe rejected it?) was just having a snarky day.

Glad you're getting a better set of folks to work with now!
