US soccer team
US soccer team ain't sucking at all. Intensity in game and conclusion in the very last minutes. Good job.
Maybe in the coming hours the destiny will decide that USA will have match with Germany, really interesting...

Ha ha, I'm not a soccar fan but coming from England we certainly didn't help ourselves by scoring an own goal in our game with them
! Your right though credit to the Americans, they have equitted themselves quite well this time around. For most of the European teams though (England definately included)
err well what can be said?

Not at all, I was writing about "football" world cup which is so called "soccer" in the US.
Rest 30 minutes to decide US destiny, slowly sound to be a coming match USA / Ghana instead of USA / Germany.

Gomen: I was just being silly. It's impressive that USA has been so competitive this time around, and would have been even more so had the refs not been so quick to nullify legit goals.
But it is true that once American football season starts everyone will be aflutter over whether the Pats can regain their groove and if the Browns will be less of a comic act and more their usual spoiler selves.

Honestly, those team are equal on paper (maybe a bit more game tricks for Ghana, while USA does not release pressure till the very last minutes) I bet on a 1:1 score match, with conclusion during final goal shoots for Ghana, so something like 2:1 for Ghana, sorry for US citizens.cutiebunny wrote:I know I'm excited. We're not exactly known for our mad soccer skills over here, so it's exciting to think that we've made it past the first round of eliminations.
So, USA vs. Ghana & England vs. Germany....
(gets her gray fedora on) Whad'it be, whad'it be....do I hear $5 on the USA?!
1/8 finals is really a good performance for the 1994 world cup organiser, even Bill Clinton was in the stadium yesterday evening. There is a large community of Algerian citizens in my district in Paris, and you can hear them supporting from a bar close to my home. Such worldwide events are always full of surprises and rising soccer playing nations are extremely interesting to watch this year.

Sensei meant to say, everyone will be eagerly awaiting to see if the Dallas Cowboys become the first team to host the Super Bo......uh I mean the Big Game......sensei wrote:But it is true that once American football season starts everyone will be aflutter over whether the Pats can regain their groove and if the Browns will be less of a comic act and more their usual spoiler selves.

I'm hoping that this year someone who hasn't won before lifts the trophy. Maybe Holland will get what they deserve after so long. The South American favourites are consistent and Asia's not too bad considering they've been late starters to the international scene.
I guess the biggest surprise crash-outs so far would be a few of the European ex-champions. But that's what makes this game fun, you never know who's going to win.
