I'm moving to Seattle in less than two weeks! I was wondering if anyone has any tips, knows of cool things to see or do, or restaurant/shop recommendations? I visited briefly like 7 years ago at the end of a trip, and I'm aware of the Kinokuniya in the Uwajimaya grocery store Definitely hitting that up.
Any tips on relocating in general?? I moved to attend college and spent a year in Kyoto, but neither of those were like starting over from scratch!

Welcome to Seattle! Maneki restaurant in the international district is a must visit. Is one of the best Japanese restaurants in town, even though it looks like a hole in the wall.
Uwajimaya is now bigger and better and move about a block from where it was before, if the last time you've visited was 7 years ago.
Tips on relocating... Not sure. It rains a lot, and nobody here knows how to drive in the snow. LOL!
Good luck with your move!

I use to spend my whole summers in Seattle and on
Whidbey island when I was a teenager. I remember
lots and lots of salmon jerky, rain, and rave parties LOL!
XD
Vancouver is really close and fun city to visit! Its ony about a 3 hr
drive. ^_~
As for things to do in Seattle, its hard to say its been so
long since I've re-visited I'm sure half the places I use to
frequent are either no longer there or have changed.
For sure thou, if anything, contribute to the gum wall!!!
(don't worry as a soon-to-be-local you'll know what that means)
