Good places to sell old anime collectibles other than ebay?

Post by kamidake »

I've been majorly lurking, and have been REALLY out of the loop on buying/selling anime stuff. So I'm hoping to pick your brains to get some suggestions on places where I can post my old anime plushie and figures collection for sale, other than ebay. Thanks! :^^:

Conventions that have swap meets are always a good place, but that might not be feasible for you depending on where you live. I've had friends who were able to get rid of their old doujinshi, anime art books, and other merchandise at convention swap meets, so it would be something I'd try as long as it's relatively close by so as not to spend money on luggage fees. A lot of people do their convention shopping at swap meets, and sometimes dealers will buy your entire stock.

Advertise on FB. I know someone who made a page where she posts stuff she's selling. There's also a group on there dedicated to selling anime stuff. https://www.facebook.com/groups/Otaku.Craigslist/

Thanks for the links! The con near where I live doesn't have a swap meet, something about business licensing and the dealers not being happy about it... :/

Sorry, no Inuyasha or kenshin, at least that I that I can found so far. ^^;;

Figure guy here. For your figures, go to MyFigureCollection.net if you haven't been there; there's an in-built P2P selling feature though I think there's a max concurrent listing cap unless you're a subscriber). Figure.fm and Reddit.com/rAnimeFigures/ are lesser traffic, but also free, alternatives. Ping me too as I'm in the market for lots of stuff!

I'm not sure if you'd come across someone who understands the value of your items, but perhaps you could try an app like Offer Up or Let Go?
