ANYway -- FB: BMP is bitmap which is a windows picture format. As opposed to JPG or GIF. DPI is the resolution (dots per inch i think it is) in which you're scanning the picture. You can adjust the DPI of your scanner yourself, look for it under the OPTIONS or PREFERENCES menu of your scanning software.
