Has anyone else been following this?

I've been following this race and it looks like us laypeople might actually be able to get into space without all that darn fool book-learning and science nonsense! :P

I have issues paying the price for a plane ticket, let alone a spaceship ticket. :P

It'd be cool to go into space though.

That's nice. I have a friend named "John Lennon".

I think it's a great achievement! The whole project only cost about $20 million to get to where it is now. NASA could probably learn a few things about cost-efficiency from them ;) I'd love to be in the SpaceShipOne for it's first "official" trips, but I'd gladly pay for a commercial flight at some point.

It sounds like fun to me, but I would never want to pay over $10,000 to do it. And it'll be a long time before doing something like that will become that "cheap".

Hells yeah! Getting humanity into space is something I *really* want to see happen in my lifetime. If I had the money, I'd already be up in the ISS. ;-)

On a similar subject, anyone here read "Firestar" by Michael Flynn? Life imitates art, apparently. I wonder who will be our Mariesa van Huyten...

This is not for me... yet.
All that money and no peanuts or little kahlua-bottles...

The Doctor : … and then, just to finish off, I’m going to wipe every last stinking Dalek out of the sky !
Dalek : But you have no weapons ! No defenses ! No plan !
The Doctor : Yeah ! And doesn’t that scare you to death ?

Once i'm old and the price for the trip drops to a reasonable rate... I'll do it. ^^ Until then... yeah... I'll just have to rely on that Stargate buried in my backyard. I'm still waiting for McGuyver to come jumpin through it. :rollin
