The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Seeing that there was more than one who would think of quoting Ghostbusters, I think we should. =P

On the Trek BBS you start out as an Ensign and may eventually become a Fleet Admiral. Their ranking system is very simple to figure out.

The Elite Forum has a funny ranking system because you start off with a rank of something like "Dates Occasionally" and if you post a lot you eventually turn into some kind of Dateless person that never leaves the house. :D

Up, down, left, right.

A, B, Select, Start.
Isn't that like the first secret code ever?

Going back on topic: I'm sure Magician would be able to answer your question best, or maybe the mods.

I found the best way to change ranking is to post more!

Yeah, but he's a mod. If this forum is the same setup as others I've been on, it should be relatively easy for the mods to adjust. And the mods can also give out custom titles. On one forum, this was used as a way to recognize people who made some major contribution to the forum in general... or just to extend inside jokes. ^_^ I really enjoyed it.

not the first code in a game but one of the most memorable since it worked on a series of games made by konami for the nes. they even still use variants of the code today in games they just replace the ab, with x and o (for ps1 and 2 games). putting select in the code makes it the 2 player version for super contra (10 lives)

On another forum I'm a mod--but there, mods can't change their titles or give out custom titles--that's gotta be done by the admin (this is on another phpBB forum). But, it all depends on how the board is set up. Over there, we give out custom titles for special contributions or if you happen to reach a certain insane number of posts... :D

Actually, no, soda is not a mod. ;) The rankings for Beta were originally put in by Sith, and then modified later by Goldknight. They are set up so that once a poster reaches a certain post count, the titles will change. Those who have custom titles have reached certain milestones!
