Bid Id List

Post by JWR »

I have seen from time to time some misunderstandings between collectors who find themselves bidding against eash other for auctions on E-bay and YJ. This can lead to so hurt feelings.

I think a lot of time this happens due to collectors not knowing or reconizing that the person bidding's Id.

I wonder if we had a bid id list might help this.

Even with a list there may still be the last second sniping that one would not have time to realize they outbid a friend but when known Id places an early bid it may give time for communication (I know your bidding on this but this is a major wishlist for me) that can gage interest and prevent misunderstandings.

What do the rest of you think?

It would have to be a private list available only to beta members. My fear is that outsiders would use the list to do mean things.

Yes, any such list would be have to be a log in access only to Beta Members.

Thanks NSP :)

Try saying that with more context.

It does no good to name names

Thou you have really good intentions about it JWR, a list would create even more trouble than it wold be worth in the end. X| /wah

Id rather not have a list at all. :? It would lead to arguments and unnecessary bickering when there are more than 3 ppl wanting the same cel and the other 2 feeling they cant bid because someone already is on it.
Its already happened before on this forum. :hurt:
No thanks! :P

As always I will abide with majority rule which at this time would be No to a bid list.

I my self would like to at least attempt not to outbid a friend on a cel they really want and risk that friendship over a piece of painted plastic.

A while back I saw an auction on YJ for a cel that caught my interest but when I saw that Goldknight was the high bid I held back.

By looking at my gallery one can tell I collect some high end cels and being older I have amassed a deep war chest so if I really find something I can't live without I can normally out last most in a bidding war. I would like to know if I was going againt someone I know , talk and work out a deal like we both like 2 or 3 I go for one and not the other.

I have to vote no on this one too.
I'd hate to bid, them doublecheck, and see I'd outbid a freind.

Why do you have to do it?

I don't but.. brainstorm..
There's another thread by RX about a bogus seller.

How about a list of proven bogus or bad sellers / bidders ?
Now THAT I will vote YES for!
