Yeah, that way you don't have to visit the board because porn loads so much faster.

Isn't cable modem great? I've had it for a month now and I don't know how I lived on dial-up for all those years.

I can't tell if this is passive agressive sarcasm or just fun goofyness. /hmm

You can call it goofy sarcasm. There is very little about me that is passive aggressive.

hah...I AM on Cable and I am NOT offended by pictures of two men having sex even though I AM above 30...so please :roll

I AM however, sick and tired of having to scroll through signatures as long as entire movie scripts to get to the next post!!

Heh... that's what dual 17" monitors are for. :dgrin

Oh, and blueheaven- I hear you loud and clear. Wasn't dial-up horrible? I can't even stand the T-1 line at work- I'm so used to things popping up immediately.

Wendy, we talked last night, so I know where you stand. I'm talking about other people on this board.

Three different reasons why I want the feature. Neither of them have anything
to do with load time, so comments on that are meaningless to me.

1. Offensivness:
There's very little that offends me. However, on my breaks from work (such
as now), I would like to be able to browse the board without fear of losing my
job because someone walks in right as I happen to be scrolling by the wrong
image at the time. While image blocking doesn't eliminate this, it will help
minimize this as I can eliminate the questionable images after the first
viewing.

2. Scrolling:
It's annoying to get only one or two lines of useful text per screen due to
exceptionally large signatures. It's especially annoying when the
accompanying signature is mostly text as it's easy to see where text and
pictures break, but less so to see breaks between the text from posts and
the text from signatures. Besides that, it's also ergonomically bad as
scrolling is repeative motion. As someone who recently went through
months of physical therapy for tendonitis, I'm concerned about that.

3. Content:
As it is now, the only option that I have is ignoring users with the large
signatures. To do so, I block all of their content and I hate to do that.
Several of the users on my ignore list, I would enjoy reading their posts
if not for the novels in their sigs.

*shrug* Well IF this is about offense and not convenience (and there are some ridiculously huge avatars popping up so I'm not discounting that) I would rather have an individualized function where the people being offended could just block it out instead of making the person "wearing" the signature take it down!

Although you did make me laugh so hard I almost fell off the couch. :P

The only reason I thought the feature would come in handy for me is for use blocking the longest four or five signatures. I don't care what's in their signatures only how long they are.

Signatures becoming longer over time, but I still get a kick out of looking at the normal length ones. :)

I too get annoyed at overly-large signatures. I don't really ever have a problem with signatures being too wide--I just get annoyed when I have to scroll and scroll to read a thread. What if we just limit signatures to a certain pixel size (say, 200h by 600w)?

Gack. 8O As one of those elders I don't know whether to be horrified by the suggestion... or horrified that the calendar really *does* say that I'm over 30!!
