What happened to the old threads?

I was trying to look at some really old threads and i cant find them. Do they get deleted once a certain time frame passes without anyone posting or something?

Magician told me he archives them and removes them from the board.

I think he said something about old thread accumulation slowing down the board and/or causing the price of storage/bandwidth go up.

Kind of sad, but apparently it must be done.

I realized after the last pruning that I had better archive some Beta threads to e-mail or I'm going to lose information on how to do certain things and on how certain things work. Otherwise I'm going to be asking the same question all over again.

Meh. There's nothing wrong with that.

Besides, someone out there might be wondering the same thing, but feeling too shy/stupid to ask.
