Why do they freeze up computers? is it the type the net program?. I use Firefox and they don't freeze me... *wonders*
Slower processor + Internet Explorer + MS Windows = frozen Windows.

It's microsofts fault.

On one of my ancient 266mhz computer I'm using... Internet explorer crashes with snowflakes. And Mozilla Firefox works perfect.

Turning off JavaScript is a good answer .... but if you forget to turn it back on, some sites won't work right ;)

come back the site doesnt load at all.

I have to turn them on, then turn them back off when I'm already logged in.

That is a generalization.

What you do is, dodge the snowflakes with your mouse, I once caught myself just sitting here dodging for 10 minutes.... Its barrels of fun!
OMG!!! That is FUN!!! :P See how long you can go with out the snowflakes hitting you???

I jus sat here and it took over a minute for one to hit the cursor without moving it. Not a real challenge here

For a challenge move the cursor up the screen an inch or so from the top and start dodging. Thats what I do.

What I do is I move my cursor between all the lines of text of the screen while reading posts and dodging snowflakes out of the corners of my eyes. For a bigger challenge I do all that while trying to cut in between snowflakes that are falling very close to each other.

My cat loves watching the snowflakes
It eluded us then, but ...tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms further...and one fine morning- So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.

I'm neutral on the snowflakes. They don't bother me in any way but they don't exactly help the site either...Kinda hinder it I suppose if other members are having issues. *Shrugs*

I bet an option to turn them off would be good considering the snowflake outrage here. :^^:
