Although I may not be an "old timer" but when I graduated college I began to lose interest in cel collecting and Anime since I saw less of my friends that I talked about anime with.
Also my tastes have changed. I collect more designer vinyl toys and prints and paintings from graffiti style artists.
Also (and I don't have any proof to back it up) I think the transition to computers has effected the quality and quantity of pieces available as well as a possible overall drop in anime popularity especially for some of the more "classics." I have definitely seen a decline in prices overall.
